bad kids movies you loved

Today I was thinking about how annoying some of the movies I watched over and over as a kid were. So much that I feel like I owe my parents an apology. One of the worst ones would be FernGully. What are the awful movies you guys watched as kids?

An embarrassing amount of the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen cashgrab films where they had parties or whatever.

Not a kid movie, but as a kid I watched Stay Hungry (1976) countless times. I watched it ad an adult and thought WTF.

Is Ferngully a bad movie? Sure it's not like... critically acclaimed, but it sits very comfortably in the average-to-slightly-above-average pantheon.

As far as genuinely terrible kids' movies, I actually loved Turtles in Time, lol. My love for TMNT overrode the nonsensical garbage I was seeing, so I was defo just like hey!! it's Leonardo but he's a samurai!!

Space Camp. God, I loved Space Camp. I still love Space Camp. It's so bad but I love it so much.

I personally don’t think it’s an awful movie, but I had the VHS of the first Sailor Moon movie and my parents hated it because I insisted on watching it over and over and would raise the volume during the “Power of Love” bit.

Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone catches a lot of shit but I thought it was neat. The Adventures of Mark Twain was cool too, if disturbing.

This is interesting because I grew up in the seventies, so - any kids movies out there then we only got to see once a year or at the movies.

Funny how things have changed so much.

The Haunted Pumpkin Of Sleepy Hollow. I had, and still do, the DVD and would watch it all the time. It also had the Disney short on the DVD so it was nice.

ALSO, this brazillian kids movie called Xuxinha e Guto contra os Monstros do Espaço (Xuxinha and Guto against space monsters). As a kid I was a big Xuxa fan.

For me it was a toss up between The Pagemaster and The Elmchanted Tree.

It wasn't great, but I loved the animation in The Pagemaster (plus Leonard Nimoy is in it briefly as Dr Jekyll and Patrick Stewart as the Adventure book too).
The pace is slow for the Elmchanted Tree, but there were parts that I thought was fun - unfortunately there's the whole thing with the sexy fox and the racist mushrooms.

Supergirl (1984)

Okay, not actually a kids movie, though it was PG, but a terrible movie that I really liked as a teen was Rhinestone - Dolly Parton and Sylvester Stallone. It is something else, people should watch it purely for the spectacle of it. And, by God, there are rhinestones galore. The Rainbiiw Brite movie. I only saw it once in the theater but I was gaga over Rainbow Brite at the time. I tried to watch it once as an adult on a bootleg DVD and hoo boy is it terrible! It was a blessing the DVD was scratched/corrupted and I was forced to give up onky a little ways in.
