It's -26C, so I stayed inside, baked and built Legos.

I mostly gamed and watched stuff today. But I also possibly finished a remix? I'll have to listen to it again tomorrow with fresh ears and make sure it actually sounds decent.

Worked and tried to hold my guts together mostly, though within about the last hour I think I figured out a way to get my new laptop to boot up at least every other time instead of maybe once every 8 tries. And the last time I tried it, the software that I need to do my job didn't get uninstalled by the Windows cleanup service!

Not much. Beeen in too much pain. Woke up with agonizing jaw pain. I'vee known for a while I probably have TMJ. But the pain has been minor and manageable until now. I was crying this morning it was so bad. I've kept up with painkillers and both icing and heating it, and it is better than it was earlier. But the pain is still too distracting to be particularly productive today. I got 2 job applications done and helped my dad fill the bird feeder with seed and other than that I've been watching youtube vids to distract myself.

I went for an hour-long run today, the first hour run of the year and the first in several months (I usually do 35 minutes but wanted to push myself today), didn't phone it in, felt great. It's warm and sunny here in NorCal, like 70°, which is wonderful running weather. I had mac and cheese for lunch as a reward, delicious. I showered and washed/deep conditioned my hair, and I'm wearing it down today (I have thick curly hair that's usually up in a bun). Chicken and rice for dinner tonight, and I'll be watching basketball.

Bounced between work, cleaning up the apartment for the visit by maintenance, and grocery shopping. Of course I spent too much at the store, but damnit, I need my chocolate, wine and beer.

Went on a walk. Met with another contractor about my basement stairs and door. Almost done with the book I am reading. I don't really like it but I want to finish it. Listened to the most recent episode of the Knowledge Fight.

Went to work. At one point I wished someone good morning as they were leaving at about 5:00 pm and then said "oh god I'm tired" when I realized. Luckily, she laughed, but yeah I'm so tired my already shitty grasp of professionalism in front of the public is just ... gone.

This year is almost as much "fun" as 2020, so far.

Things you want to share

(Anonymous) 2021-01-15 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
With people here!

I'm trying to read a fic, but
1. It takes place in America and the character keeps saying "Mum" and the full name of another character, who usually goes by the nickname in the show
2. The author keeps switching POVs part way...through the same chapter
3. The way they talk about "being 25" or what have you makes me feel like they either are not, haven't been yet 25. Could possibly be a cultural thing too, ya never know so benefit of the doubt
4. The age gap of the ship was supposed to be mid twenties individual with a late forties early fifties individual. Cutting it to a ten year gap kinda takes the "taboo" out of it. Oh wow. You're 25 and they're 35. Ugh. Hell, 35 and 45 would have been a bit more interesting.

Oh well.

My celebrity crush is turning 47 this year. I’m curious to see if that will amplify my feelings, because for some reason I have a weird relationship with the number 47.

There is a large fly in my apartment and it has been here for a week or two and I am going crazy. No idea where it chills out when not bothering me, and however it got in, it refuses to leave the same way like its brethren always do. Aaargh.

Is there anything you're grateful for today?

(Anonymous) 2021-01-15 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
I'm grateful for the people in my life. And for my bed (I'M SO TIRED).

My adorable bunnies. One of them is prone to stasis and she had another small bout the other day that I nursed her through without a vet trip because I caught it early... Afterwards I went to check on her before bed and she darted over to me and stretched up to kiss all over my face when I knelt down. Buns are just the best.

Living in a country with universal healthcare. They approved more therapy sessions today. I'm out of work at the moment, but that does not matter. I honestly don't know how us citizens manage to survive without it. Without uhc I would have probably already killed myself.

Thankful for my dog keeping me active! We went on an almost hour long walk today and we were both dragging by the end of it.

Thankful for my partner; we did yard work and chatted video games and it was really nice. :3
