184. Sounds like you prefer the shonen and seinen to the shoujo.

Not really. Half of those manga on the NO! side weren't shojou but shounen manga. And I like shojou manga such as Fruits Basket, Aishiteruze Baby, Baby and Me and Peach Girl. But again, I like their art as well. I simply don't like art where it looks like it was done by some kid with a handful of "how to Draw Manga" books. Manga like that bores me.

I guess to me it's always about the story more than the art :/

The way I see it, if I am reading a manga ONLY for the story and not for the art, why not read a novel instead? The art is half the reason why I'll read a manga.

Of course, there have been times where the reverse is true. A few mangaka have create some of the most detailed and beautiful art I have ever seen but the story stinks. In that case, no amount of art is going to make me read the manga. Sorry. For example, I thought the art for One Piece was amazing and really original but the story bored me after awhile so I stopped read it. As nice as the art is, and I do love Eiichirō Oda style, his storytelling leaves me wanting something more.

There must always be a balance.

Well it's not my only reason. I just can really like the art - say for example Hitman Reborn - and just HATE THE STORY.

Good art enchances the story but I'm not going to discard a book because of the artsyle unless it's something like Super Milk-chan >_>

I'm assuming the HPN, but the LP works too. I was on both.

Heh, okay, that's why I didn't recognize you. Because that wasn't the one I was referring to. Oh well. :) HPers is pretty obscure, anyway (may be a gross understatement).

Yeah I just know both boards had like THOUSANDS of members so well I figured the chance could be high sorta.

I'm pretty agoraphobic online (less so than I used to be), so I tend not to comment in overly populated forums. I was on Fiction Alley Park for a while, but I segregated myself to only a handful of threads. Because I'm lame like that. ;) Nice try, though.

I tried Fiction Alley but it was too controlling for my tastes. I only ended up on HPN because someone was talking about one of my stories there and then I migrated to LP from there.
