Oh, man, I'm loving all the NCIS secrets lately. I agree with this one. Abby's not my least favorite character (that particular distinction goes to the dearly departed Madame Director), but she rates way down on my list.

I used to feel the same way when I first started watching NCIS. She's such a stereotypical perky goth that at first, she makes you rage.
And then she (and the entire show, which is crap, but enjoyable crap) totally grows on you.

154) Good lord. I live in Tokyo, I love (some) anime. I like quite a few aspects of the culture. But I would rather die than give up my American citizenship. Not only is the country itself important to me as all my family live there, but...god no, I would never want to be Japanese :/ Unless I were born and raised here, in which case I wouldn't care, would I? Any American (and anyone else who comes here with ideas of a land of free-flowing sake and Eva figures on every corner, wohoo!!) who lives here for more than 3 months will realize the harsh realities of Japan, and then you get over it and stay and have fun, or you go home and move on.

I'm a-hearing you, OP. I went to the same Uni as he did, about 10 years after he'd left, and ended up on the committee of the AmDram Society... during a clearout of the office we found an old minutes book with loads of stuff in there about how he'd started kicking up a right stink back in his day because he wanted the society to give him their funds for him to do a personal project and, unsurprisingly, they wouldn't. He seemed to be rather put out that the world, in fact, did not revolve around him. I do find him funny on QI, but the stuff we found did put him across as a pretentious prick.

Also, he bites tramps.

Maybe we should set up some sort of group where people share the furtive dirt we have on the curly-topped vagrant worrier.

I really used to love Alan Davies - thought he was wonderful. But - I read a few things that started making me wonder if he was really quite as cute and cuddly as he was being made out to be...and then I read something about the break up of his relationship with Julia Sawalha that made me think the guy was a prick.

These days? Find him incredibly smug and annoying - and oh god, but his voice grates on my ears as well. :¬} TBH, he irritates the shit out of me on QI because he's like that kid at the back of the class who thinks that he has to be the centre of attention all the time and hates anyone else being in the limelight...

...Oh god, I've just realised... Wants to be the centre of attention all the time and bites things (albeit a tramp and not a hamster) he shouldn't? Lord help me, but Alan Davies is clearly turning into our generation's Freddie Starr... :¬(
