I feel like most of the unearned shit Taylor Swift gets is more of a being-famous-while-female thing than a generational thing. That said, I'm 100% here for the TS positivity!

Oh definitely, I'm right in the middle of Gen X and women in my generation got all that shit too, and so did Boomer women in entertainment and I'm sure Gen Z will too, which is depressing. Is it slightly better for Taylor Swift than it was for, say, Britney or Mariah or Whitney? Sure. Taylor Swift could speak out when someone sexually assaulted her (but even then Kesha was forced to work with a producer who raped her). I hope Gen Z learns that they're not immune to the same bullshit when they all reach their 20s.
