Nah, honestly, anon.
As much as I do feel you in a sense (I mean you can't debut as a k-pop idol at 30-something and sometimes I feel kind of jealous of young children...) I know it's very much untrue for most fields in the 21th century.

Nowadays we can publish stuff anonymously online where no publisher has to know our identities - so they never mattered so little in comparision to what we do :) We can throw something amazing into the world and live off revenue and never publicly reveal our names. More than ever before we have freedom to experiment and show what we want to and people will like it if they like it because: Internet bro. So. Yeah. I don't think identity has ever mattered so little and it's certainly horrible in a sense, but in another... the freedom to create is very welcome personally.

I can't be a k-pop idol anymore but I know I can independently produce a local "k-pop inspired" group if I want to - and you can produce your own movies too.

Sure, it's different from "sigh, why wasn't I famous and relevant at 20!" - guess what, most people weren't - but when it comes to creating I feel so free - maybe more now than I did when I was younger :)
