a. There are communities that exist for the expressed purpose of touting other comms. Failing that, I would read general band communities' (like for indie rock or something) guidelines on advertising or contact their mods about placing a ad post. It can be done.
b. This, unfortunately, cannot be avoided. But you won't know who will join until you put it out there (and create rules to contain as much of the idiocy as possible, i.e. name-calling, bad posting etiquette, ship wars, etc). You don't hear about the comms that that are playing together and making it work as much as the wank and the violence, but we are out there.

That's a little disturbing.

I love this fandom so fucking much. Everyone is so accepting and it's nice to find other people who are just as big political geeks as I am.

And that picture is freaking adorable. I love Rahm's scowl and the fact that he his holding his cell phone.

It's just so loving and dorky and awesome. And that picture was the very first thing to get me into the fandom.
