Have you never heard of chubby chasers? Gold diggers? I'm low on my slang terms, but NOT EVERYONE IS ATTRACTED TO WHAT IS TRADITIONALLY ATTRACTIVE. There is a huge following for people who want to see their characters at 300+ lbs (I'm pretty sure there was a -chan style message board for it at some point), or those that desperately want to sex up Alan Rickman - nothing is weird about these people, nothing is wrong with these people. They're just a different target audience.

You are not 'exposing the shallow underbelly of fandom' by saying that if the target audience was different it would attract different fans, nor is anyone else who decides to say things like "IF THE LEADS OF SUPERNATURAL WEREN'T ATTRACTIVE, YOU WOULDN'T LIKE THE SHOW."

You just make yourself look like a n00b to the internet. which, I'm guessing, you are.

Yeah, same. I'd rather believe its mutual, but you have a better chance of convincing me Wilson doesn't love House that way than the other way around. I have noticed how actively they make House's sexuality ambiguous, and really, I think that's what the writers are trying to get at.

Yeah, I've come to feel the same way. ...mainly because my fiancee can bust out with a rather impressive rendition of "Whatever Happened To Saturday Night?" and, if I recall correctly, played Eddie once in a local midnight viewing in his home state of California. But I guess that makes me biased, even if I shall never ever fit into Columbia's gold sequined getup nor get my voice up that high without the added duress of pain.

I have a feeling that if F!S had been around in the 1700s, Jonathan Swift would have caused much wank with Gulliver's Travels and A Modest Proposal. Maybe in a couple centuries, more people will find Hetalia hilarious?

I'm also saddened that politcal satire is a mostly dead category of humor. If it ween't for The Daily Show and The Colbert Report I doubt very many people would know what it was. Political correctness killed political satire...

Well-done satire makes people question their moral or political assumptions. Poor satire just happens to reference people's assumptions.
