I think we talked about this in the OG comment thread, but the biggest obstacle to what you want is simply that western producers believe that history that west isn't familiar with must be, for want of a better term, time-localized. Rome (and Spartacus) on HBO had a) HBO going for it which at the time thrived on artistic dissonance with both other cable shows and network shows and b) Rome and Greece had already been shown in so much other media that frankly something historically "accurate" would be a change of pace, lmao.

My personal hesitance is that the study of history inherently works in conjunction with modernity, in that "accuracy" w/r/t history usually means choosing which lens of modernity you think is comports with whatever historical evidence we have, rather than cutting it out all together. Thus the historical consultants (who as I said the producers will probably not listen to when it conflicts with modern economic considerations) cannot resist modern intervention, just decide the time period of modernity the intervention occurred.

But honestly, I agree with the thrust of this secret and good luck to you and me.
