Steering her towards better books is a good idea. You could also talk about the specific strengths and weaknesses of the writing in those books to guide your friend towards being able to identify similar issues in her own writing. It's a small comfort, but if she plans on writing for a similar Christian lit market, maybe she shortcomings in her work won't matter quite so much. Those readers tend to be more issue/theme focused anyway.

But if I were you, I'd try like hell you get out of reading whatever she comes up with.
