Flea market then a movie! (whoo I think I hadn't set foot in a cinema in over a year!)

Right now in bed, enjoying the peace of my cat sleping quietly in the other room. Four months ago, he was a screaming hysterically all through the night (and day). I'm so grateful for his dementia meds.

Went to brunch at an oldschool American diner/restaurant with a M A S S I V E brunch/lunch menu. I had a pear salad (baby arugula with pears, walnuts, dried cranberries and gorgonzola cheese in a raspberry vinaigrette) with grilled chicken and a glass of pinot grigio, with a piece of Niagara Falls cake and an Irish coffee with Jameson and Bailey's for dessert. It was delicious! And now I need a nap.

What's Niagara Falls cake? I tried googling but all it comes up with are cakes that look like Niagara Falls.

Tried a church this morning. I found one that I'd wanted to try that is super liberal, multi-racial and cultural, and actually involved in the world and its own neighborhood. I was cautious because I've been burned before, but I was pleasantly surprised. My parents would hate the church, which makes me like it even more TBH.

Been resting this afternoon. Still have a sore arm and feeling a bit sick from COVID booster plus hormones. About to take a nap.

Later on I'm going to put more music on my new ipod. I was going to do laundry, but since tomorrow is a holiday, I'm going to put it off until then.

watched DragonConTV's footage of the parade, now I'm grilling brats and prolly gonna get drunk.

Church online, then as it was ending, heard a noise like tons of pokemon despawning and respawning on my cell phone, and OOPS SURPRISE POKEMON GO EVENT.

Now that that's over, finally getting around to what I had intended to do this afternoon, re-reading the current fic project that had been on hold this last week due to work wtfery. Every couple hours putting another coat of clear-coat on the blade for the prop sword that goes with my most recent cosplay.

I was at work sadly lol so now I'm tired. Want to do some more work on my crochet sweater but I am considering a nap first.

Washing bedding after my cat puked up a hairball while running to me for comfort. I should be working on revisions.

Finished Rogue Protocol by Martha Wells and started Exit Strategy. I just love Murderbot. I want everything for it.

Hauling blankets and sheets and clothes to the laundromat, reading ebooks, napping, eating junk that requires no prep, and downing ibuprofen like M&Ms. Currently wandering around my neighborhood waiting for the latest round of ibuprofen to kick in and blankets to dry.

I need to get my new fridge inside tomorrow but I'm afraid I'll hurt myself (again) or damage it. At least I didn't have to worry about fucking up the old one when I wrestled it to the alley.

I'm glad I have a short work week. I have tomorrow off, so my schedule is Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday.

Worried about my cat. She was purring and affectionate when I lured her out of the loft, but she's also occasionally breathing with her mouth open, although she's not panting. She's eating like normal, at least.

Oh, and I found a bottle of cattle drench ivermectin under the kitchen sink when I was cleaning earlier (bought for chickens to treat scaly leg mites), but as tempting as it would be to sell it to gullible idiots, some assholes are dosing their kids with it.

Is your 20th or 21st birthday a bigger celebration? For some reason your 21st birthday is the bigger of the two in my country.

21, cuz that's the one when we can (legally) drink.

21 tends to be due to the drinking age reason, it's the last age where you're barred by age from doing most stuff. 20 wasn't a big deal at all as far as I remember

Definitely the twenty first. I don’t think anyone gets excited about turning twenty. My only thought when I turned twenty was that I wasn’t a teenager anymore.

I was in the US and my family in the Philippines for both those birthdays. 21 was a little bigger because I had friends to celebrate with. And also, even though I went to a conservative Christian college, my birthday is in summer, so I was allowed to drink.

Agreeing with all the above. 21st because you can legally drink so it's always a big bar hopping celebration.

Aside from Japan, I don't know of any other society that makes a big deal out of the 20th birthday. And 21st is only a thing in the US because of their weirdass legal drinking age.

Because I have a thing I need to ask. I may request my subthread to be removed later, bc i don't wanna come across as publicly bashing. I tried asking people on discord but got no response.

Does anyone else find writing a satisfying but really lonely hobby?
