While it's good they're not going with white actors this time, I'm still a bit disappointed that they still went for the whitest looking indigenous actors rather than attempting to match the characters looks a little better.

Are you mostly talking about how much lighter Katara’s actor is, or is there something else I’m missing?

Katara's actress mostly, like, they did well with Aang and Zuuko, why not go for the full set?

SA Though Sokka's actor could have been darker too but I swear every pic of Sokka I see looks a different shade.

That's a pretty lightened photo of Kiawenti:io Tarbell - take a look at her in Anne with an E. And I don't think she's particuarly white-looking in her features.

AYRT yeah I don't think her features look white but I worry that even when casting BIPOC actors they still seem to look for the 'western beauty' type, look at the majority of black or Indian (as in from India, not indigenous) actors/actresses where they're still on the super light side. It's sad.
