I hate my (long) hair. I can't braid behind my head so I do side braids but if they're off center it'll pull my whole head sideways. And buns? Get out of here! If they aren't right up top I'll get a woping headache. Only the awful memory of dealing with my hair when it's short keeps me from hacking it all off.

Try doing a ponytail, and then winding the tail around the hair elastic, twisting it a little as you go, into a bun. Then use a hair stick to skewer it in place. I have hair past my waist, and this totally works - keeps everything pulled back and mostly smooth, but the bun/stick keeps the weight of a tail from giving me a headache.

That's the only way I know how to do buns! Ive heard if other ways but I lack the motivation to try. Thanks for making me feel less alone!
But yeah, doing them in the back of my head gives me headaches, it's only when they're perfectly balanced on to of my head that I can ignore my hair.
