Rather well now that both my cold and my cousins' noise levels have toned down a bit. The formal family dinner is over, we've entered the board games & casual nomming on leftovers part!
Annnd the local children's movie festival begins tomorrow, I'll take my sister to see Wolf Walkers.

Exhausting. I didn't sleep much last night to begin with. And my sister and brother-in-law are just so loud and high-energy and exhausting. I was acting as santa, handing out presents. And everything with them, as usual, was extra difficult.

I did love giving my kitty her presents, though. She loves the soft little mouse toy, the moving fish toy, and especially the puzzle toy filled with treats.

Now I'm sitting out on the porch taking some time to myself. Drinking a glass of OJ and rum. We'll be eating dinner soon I think. After that I'm going to take a long nap.

Honestly doesn't really feel like Christmas this year. At least, I'm not feeling it. I'm just exhausted. Mostly I'm looking forward to two weeks from now when I'm getting a weekend to myself in a hotel.

I did get a really cute red dress with little cheetah's on it and a nice orange sweater to go with it. And my mother got me some gift cards to restaurants for while I'm at the hotel.

It is too hot to get in the Christmas mood. But, we had everyone over for breakfast. We made way too much food (still have a ton of pancake batter). The kids were happy about their gifts. I went on some nice long walks and listened to a podcast. Took a nap and now am trying to get my heartburn to go away.

Excited to (hopefully) drink some new liquor my sister got me and play video games with them as well tonight.

Eh. Normal Saturday for me since I was feeling only at about the usual level of pain and discomfort. Not okay enough to drive across town to visit family (and most of them are coming by here tomorrow anyway) even without the possibility of asymptomatic omicron breakthrough infections or my car collapsing on itself halfway there.

So I cleaned litterboxes and played mobile games and lay in bed wishing my stomach would let me drink enough to not be dehydrated which is basically what I do every weekend.

Weirdly. I woke up feeling the lowest I have felt in ages. Just feel depressed today, although I've been putting a face on it.

Pretty good. I went over to my sister's house for presents and lunch earlier and am no getting ready to go to the movies. The only bad part is my noisy downstairs neighbor playing their music really loud while I was trying to nap this afternoon.

I'm eating cold cheese ravioli with tomato/garlic sauce and will be eating corned beef hash after. It's just me and my mother here, so she said she ain't cooking. It's pretty depressing.

Ordered a taco pizza from Casey's. They gave me a large instead of the small I ordered, there's no way I can eat all of that.

Good, although I didn't go anywhere. Cooked by now traditional waffle breakfast (with maple syrup, whipped cream, berries, and a side of veggie bacon) for myself and the roommate, exchanged presents (I got the food processor I asked for to replace my old second hand one and I think I could puree myself with it if not for the bowl locks), and aunt and uncle drove by to exchange presents and chat. Now I'm gonna check on my critters, take a nap, and go for a walk, and then make soup.

Train ride to visit my brother's family. My other brother's family came. Lots of food and presents. Spent the night. Train home this morning.

More food. Went to a christmas concert at the church, visited santa in WoW.

Oh: I always watch the Pope on Christmas Eve, despite not being Catholic.

Badly. The family's discarded me because I'm too disabled myself to ferry my mother around to her appointments (she's got cancer, it's not a trivial thing.) My sister interrogated me on what one of my specialists said last week, flexing her academic muscle because that's what she does, and I walked out on her. I'm now in a nursing home. A couple of friends have checked up on me, but the family hasn't bothered.

Why the fuck did I expend so much irreplaceable energy on my mother anyway? The pandemic has been absolute hell for me, my health probably won't ever recover, and the family's attitude is that I'm now just not worth bothering with. She didn't want to get outside help. Her choice.

...Most people in the nursing home have gone out to family, or had them come in, which makes me feel even more isolated and unfucking loved.

So. Christmas is going shittily.

A cousin died unexpectedly earlier this week, so my mother and I went to visit her family and attend the funeral.

Just arrived home after the 8 hour drive. Probably going to sleep soon.

Pretty meh. Gave presents that I put a lot of thought into, got presents that I will never use/don't care for and can not eat due to diet/allergies. On the good side I guess I can re-gift some of the stuff I got ? Hope everyone else has a better Christmas !

Pretty good. Ate lots of food. Started a puzzle. I don't think the guy watching my Dads' dogs while they're on vacation is doing a super job of it. But, they are being fed, watered, and medicated so I guess I can't complain too much.

Well, turns out when you don't drink for 4 months, the alcohol really hits you even if you just drink a little. I can barely keep my eyes open.

so i was thinking about things and I sorta started working out something. For a while after being harassed I became super paranoid that I was this horrible arrogant person for awhile. But recently I sorta realized that no, there's nothing wrong with having goals and aspirations like wanting to write a book. Fanfiction made me realize I wanted to write for a living.

Having aspirations and goals is healthy. Its normal

I feel like the weight on my self esteem is starting to lessen a bit. <3
