While I know that you mean no offense, that is the biphobic explanation, as it paints bisexual people as only caring about genitals at best, and transphobic at worst.

In practice, there's no real difference between a pansexual and a bisexual. The only difference is HOW a person sees themselves. They want to call themselves pan? they're pan. They want to call themselves bi? they're bi. But there's no "Pan means they like ALL, Bi means they like SOME" definition.

See your explanation is just as biphobic. It's okay to have genital preference, or to not as the case may be. If you're not attracted to a trans person that doesn't make you transphobic.

And where did I say not being attracted to a transexual person made you transphobic?

I said "It made bisexual look as if they only care about genitals AT BEST, and transphobic AT WORST" meaning, no, having a genital preference doesn't make you transphobic. It just means you have (or don't) a genital preference. Which yes, it IS biphobic. That was my point. It was not "my" explanation, it was the "WHY" saying bisexual people care about if the trans person has or hasn't transitioned fully is biphobic.

MY personal take on the bi/pan debate is, since it was not clear: there's no REAL difference. Both are attracted to all genders, in paper. Of course, individual bi and pan people will have different levels of attraction, and have personal preferences in every area, but as an umbrella term? BOTH pan and bi mean that you are attracted to more than one gender, and don't limit what genders you are attracted to.

How on earth is their explanation biphobic?? You misinterpreted their comment about genital preference, and they’ve already explained how. But nothing they’ve said is remotely biphobic. You’re pulling that out of nowhere. And it seems like you only felt the need to “No U” them about biphobia and accuse them of it because your quibble with what they said didn’t sound dramatic enough on it’s own for you. But if that’s not the case, then I have no idea what you’re on about or how you came to that conclusion.
