Yeah, I think I'm going to start with something small or subtle. I was/still am in a way, super into certain fandoms in which I would wear things that reminded folks of fandom adjacent style (say for example Matrix like outfits or outfits with corsets) and they were certainly more subtle (and stylish and easier to make work). I might just get a keychain. Something small other fans might notice before I go for a full on "favorite character on a shirt". That will likely stay home lol, or come out when I'm hanging out with close friends, as they know what I'm into.

Yay! I hope you find something cool!

And yeah, stuff with characters is always trickiest. That's why I tend to go for symbols, ships, droids or aliens, etc. Even then I prefer more stylized designs, so that at a first glance it's just a pretty picture. Stuff with faces on it somehow screams fandom in a way that the other stuff doesn't IMO.
