And yeah, stuff with characters is always trickiest. That's why I tend to go for symbols, ships, droids or aliens, etc. Even then I prefer more stylized designs, so that at a first glance it's just a pretty picture. Stuff with faces on it somehow screams fandom in a way that the other stuff doesn't IMO.
