What’s your inner monologue doing?

(Anonymous) 2022-01-26 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Right now mine is busy rambling about how there are no lesbians named Martha, which I’m sure is untrue.

My inner monologue died today and my neighbors hate me.

Going over that first secret and missing the Phoenix Wright kink meme, where people posted stuff that was basically imagines all the time and since it was all anon, they were just happy when someone wrote it and you literally couldn't credit them anyway.

But then on the other hand if you posted your resulting fic on AO3 or whatever under your own name there were people who would call you an attention whore for not staying anon yourself, soooo...

And then wishing my One True Fandom had a prompt/kink meme but then realizing that it would be like 98% Ashley/Sydney which I have no interest in writing and basically zero interest in reading. :P

Right now, it's writing a long persuasive essay on how people should be allowed to do what they want with their bodies without other people judging them. Tattoos, Body hair, piercings, whatever. As long as no one's getting hurt, mind your own business.

Funny enough, my inner monologue was telling me to get a tattoo this weekend. Hee hee.

And now my inner dialogue is reminding me that one day when we've lost weight we'll get a nice dragon tattoo on one arm and something Tolkien-related on the other.

I know telling people what to do with their bodies is annoying, so I'm sorry for what I'm about to say, but please don't postpone doing fun stuff until you've lost weight. I know so many people (self included sometimes) who put fun, achievable things off until some future time when they've "earned" them by being an idealized version of themselves.

Motivating yourself to make needed change is one thing, putting off all the good stuff until you become your ideal self is a road to misery.

Oh, I know I won't ever be my ideal. This is about motivating myself. I have different things to reward myself with for reaching different goals. I have lost some weight but I also put some back on. So with the tattoos, I'm telling myself that if I can lose some and keep it off for a while, then we'll reward ourselves with a tattoo or two that won't be ruined hopefully by me regaining the weight.

I didn't even think that I knew that kind of language, I just wish I could use it to call someone else all that.

It's saying: Oh, shit, I forgot to watch 1000-Lb. Sisters last night. Thank god I have Discovery+. Oh yeah, My 600 Pound Life is on tonight. Wonder if they'll tell the truth about their trauma or sugar coat it.

Re: What’s your inner monologue doing?

(Anonymous) 2022-01-27 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
I binged some My 600 Pounds Life last year and it was always so strange when they talked about the terrible abuse they endured because the things they were saying were TERRIBLE, but the framing/editing of the show was almost dismissive. IDEK most if not all of the are very disturbed people with serious mental health issues and the solution for them seems always to be going to therapy one time and losing enough weight to do the surgery. Huge #thanksimcured energy.

Is 1000 LB Sisters better? I've never watched it.

Re: What’s your inner monologue doing?

[personal profile] hey_hey_hey 2022-01-27 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
I want to believe they get more therapy than the show shows but I doubt most of them do. The editing on that show is kind of weird in general.

1000-lb Sisters is just a train wreck. The bigger sister, Tammy, is a mess. She's a mean, nasty, rude, emotional wreck who heavily smokes and drinks despite being 750 pounds and recently recovered from COVID. I can't look away from that show.

Obsessing about chocolate, conlangs, language lessons, boyfriends from outer space, home remodeling, robots, and abstract art. In no particular order.

A perfectly ordinary day.

Lately has been some variation of 'Everything Is Bad! That's A Heart Attack Not Anxiety! That Headache?! It's An Aneurysm And Death Is Nigh! The Wheel Of Your Car Is Going To Fall Off And You WILL Crash!'

Followed by 'Nope. None of that is real. You need to take some deep breaths. And relax your jaw before you crack a tooth.'

I can eat this cookie, right? I had veggies and a salad, so I can definitely eat this cookie. Just one, though. Okay, maybe two. Or three . . . Shit, how'd I eat six? No wonder I'm such a fatass. I should go for a walk or do some yoga or something . . . Ehh, maybe tomorrow.

Most of the time, doing earworms. (When I need to work, writing fic. When I want to write, dying off. When I want to sleep, obsessively revisiting every moment I was sad or angry.)
At the moment it's singing. Yay.
