This is beyond positive and reads like exhibitionism and also feels really damn ableist in the "anxiety can be willed away by self improvement" variety

(Anonymous) 2022-02-08 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
How on earth are you getting that from someone saying ‘I know I’m good at writing’ like clearly your reading comprehension isn’t all that anon since that’s the reach you’ve made from this.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Okay OP, keep self-fellating.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, we get it, you're nice and edgy and properly self-loathing. Very cool.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
ah, yes, here your show your ableism yet again, OP. Aren't you a precious "not like other girls" type person?

How is that comment 'ableism'? No, really - I don't get it at all.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Implying self-loathing is always a choice and that people who have it don't hate it.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
Nobody implied that.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
What? Reach any more and you're gonna fall flat on your face. Oh, wait, already happened.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Throwing the word ableism around doesn’t make you right anon and it’s somewhat funny that you’re accusing 2 separate people of being the OP because they’re not agreeing with you, or are confused about how you’ve managed to get a serious accusation from someone simply having pride in their own skills.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
nayrt

Why do I get the feeling ayrt is the same person who keeps getting on people's tits about using the word "lame"?

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
Uhhhm akshually, the phrase "getting on people's tits" is ableist towards people who have had mastectomies. You must be OP too :/

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
nayrt

Wait, are you doing that thing again where you're having entire conversations in your head, and then basing your response on the absolute worst thing you can imagine the other side saying to you?

How's that working out for you?

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
I mean, they literally open with, "Teehee, I can't relate to all those OTHER writers who're too busy WORRYING while I ACTIVELY IMPROVE AND KNOW I AM OBJECTIVELY GOOD, like, duh dummies????" as if anxiety and stuff like that is rational.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
‘I’m sorry for them, that must suck’

Literally in the secret, acknowledging that it can’t be easy to deal with that but they don’t personally, which is something I understand because I don’t suffer with worry or anxiety over my fic either. It’s not an insult to others to recognise something is a common problem but one you don’t personally resonate with.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
As someone who suffers from anxiety, dude, shut up. Finding something about yourself to view positively IS a legitimate self-help tip because it's like training wheels for your brain to start thinking positively in general. Does mental illness make that hard? Absolutely! But it's still an OBJECTIVELY helpful thing, no matter what your starting point is.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
Seconding this, as another person who suffers from anxiety.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Why would you assume that people worry about their work being well-receive have anxiety? Anxiety is a clinical condition that I admit I never fully understood until I experienced it and was like, "whoa, holy shit, I'm afraid to drive my car now," among other things.

Fearing your fic is mediocre or kinda sucks isn't an anxiety symptom, though a person with anxiety can feel that way, they might not necessarily.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
Because a lot of people who participate in fandom have anxiety and it doesn't just cover your driving or other Big Things, dumbass. People without anxiety aren't gonna fret THAT much over how others perceive them and their work.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
nayrt

Why don't you go take a nap and let the adults talk? Feel free to return when you learn how to have an actual civil discussion instead of being hostile and resorting to name-calling.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
I have perfectionist tendencies and do worry a lot about how my work is perceived when I post it, but I don't have anxiety about it.

A lot of people in fandom like to act like everybody has a mental illness, when that's just not true.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
Or maybe, just maybe, a lot of people have mental illness because we live in a soulless capitalistic hellscape that commodifies our everything. You know. A thing that's been studied and shown multiple times.

But no, people are just fakey-fakers and only a small handful of people have Twu Mental Illness.

I bet you spend time on r/illnessfakers or whatever.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
Stay in school, bud. They'll teach you how to read soon.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Have you considered that blowing up at everyone who you perceive to be too positive about themselves might not be helping anyone on the mental health front?

(Anonymous) 2022-02-09 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
No it isn't. "reads like" "feels like": iow you just pulled that out of your ass and want to attack OP for your own issues.
