Actually there was at least one time I specifically recall I spent an entire evening listening to the opening riff of a Sonic Youth song, and then when it started getting towards the verse, I restarted the track to hear the opening riff again.

(Anonymous) 2022-03-26 03:58 am (UTC)(link)I also have favorite parts of a lot of different songs, and I replay those moments repeatedly until I’m ready to move on to the rest of the song. Sometimes I don’t even listen to the rest of the song, I’ll just replay my favorite part, especially the opening, until I’m satisfied and then be done with the song. I do the same while watching videos, so I only do this when I’m listening/watching by myself. I didn’t have that same conscientious when I was a kid obviously, and I annoyed my parents by asking to replay the beginning of a song again and again, while wearing out the tape in the cassettes lol!
