I was not getting this secret at all. I can't believe she tweeted about a fucking misspelling. How petty can you be?! Is this supposed to be funny?
Leave people misspelling words alone. Especially if they mean well (hopefully? I know nothing about South Wales police so can't really judge) and you are famous and affirmed. She should be way above this. FUCK.

The police were trying to do community outreach to the LGBT community in Wales after someone was murdered in a hate-crime.

Can't believe JKR is still intruding herself in things related to the LGBT community. The nerve.

But if any LGBT people take advantage of this offer they're supporting cops and All Cops Are Bastards, so anyone scared about being the next victim will just have to sit this out and take one for the team, I guess.

I don't mind if people point out typos in general (honestly, I might have even laughed if someone else had done it), but I'm also of the opinion that there's a time and place for everything, and for some folks, there's a time to shut one's whore mouth. Especially if what anon below you said is true. Just appalling.

I mean, I usually don't mind when people point out misspelling IF IT'S DONE IN A FUNNY WAY. You can make jokes on someone's mistakes with humor and respect or you can be a piece of shit and be a bully just to make other people talk about you. It's different if twitter user1234 points out a mispelling and it becomes a meme or if JKR, a world known author with millions (?) of followers, mocks an account (and directly insult their benevolent intent) on a social network.
The context that anon provided makes it so much worse. I almost can't believe this is real.

Would they have? I haven’t seen anybody with that in their bios make the same joke, or support JKR’s tweet and laugh along with her. So unless you have evidence of it happening, this is an assumption, and a possible bad faith assumption at that.

You're right. Those people really don't have much of a sense of humor, they would have just said "fuck cops" or posted some awful meme.

Someone saying fuck the cops, because they hate cops, is different from a well known hatemonger saying fuck cops because she hates LGBT people. Motivation and context matter, as I suspect you well know but are deliberately ignoring to push your own political point. The cops, even in the UK, have a long and complicated history with LGBT people, which is far from being a wholly positive one. LGBT people have a right to be sceptical of them, but they also have a right to expect cops actually do stuff like this in good faith too. A hatemonger, who uses the name of a proponent of conversion "therapy" as their pen name, has no dog in this race, nor any right to have any expectations whatsoever.

i don't understand how if you hate her so much you follow her every tweet. everything i've heard about the woman over the last 5 years has all been second hand. who cares about a tweet from her at this point.

Although most of those people are her hardcore fans who suffer from ReadAnotherBookitis, or fellow TERFs. I hope none of the people who are against her GC bs or hate her aren’t actually following her. Because that’s when it goes from just being against her to in a normal way to an unhealthy way. And following someone you don’t like is not just bad for you, but it’s also boosting her numbers, which is actually supporting her in the end.

It is impossible to ignore the most famous woman on the planet. When she tweets, especially tweeting hate against a vulnerable group, it is simply not possible to not hear about it. And if you are in one of the groups she is directing hate at, and her hate has directed actual and literal political consequences for, then it is impossible not to care about it. It does affect your life.

Yep. I don't have twitter and I don't actively follow that account or her in other social media (does she have any outside twitter? IDK). Still, I hear about her often enough because she's continuosly putting herself into conversation about LGBT (especially trans) issues and I'm part of the LGBT community.
I have to fight people following her believes and using her rethorics against people like me. Knowing what BS she's saying hurts me individually because I wouldn't want to hear ignorant stuff like that, thanks, but in the long run also helps me because I have some more tools to defend myself in my privare sphere when people not in the LGBT community use TERF rethorics against me.

Sometimes people forget that ignorance is, yes, bliss, but it's also a priviledge. (obviously not in all context this is true)

Taylor Swift is tweeting hate against vulnerable populations?
