I'm not a completionist, but getting an achievement for doing something extra is fun, especially on steam where they give you a "3.7% of players achieved this." feel especially great.

.. Because ... it should be fun to actually play the game? I mean, unpopular opinion here, but I like games that are fun to play, not games that make me play out of FOMO or shame. If I just want the story I will go for an LP anyway.

These are my favorite kinds of achievements, just the "oh yeah. I did that" thing, particularly if they have funny names.

Glad you're feeling better, nonny! We finally got caught by it a few weeks ago too, and like you my boss was super accommodating and scheduled cover for the week. My partner on the other hand had his boss pushing to get him back in to work regardless because they were short-staffed, which, uh, didn't go down great with me.

It always sucks going back after time off, so I feel you. The way I looked at it was at some point in the future, I'll get to have actual lovely scheduled time off where I don't feel like garbage, and it'll be way more enjoyable. Take it steady tomorrow just to be safe, the fatigue can still hang around for a while.

My taste is highly Highly questionable. I was simultaneously attracted and repulsed.

I mean, sure, but when I'm spending $60 on a game then I'd better be getting $60 worth of entertainment out of it, and to me one single playthrough isn't $60 worth of entertainment even if the game is fun. I want something that's going to make me come back to the game to play it more than once.

I'm so sorry for you right now, the only way I got through mine was by munching painkillers every few hours. :( Drink lots and lots of water! Warm drinks always feel good if you have a sore throat too. My go-to for entertainment when ill is usually a good binge watch of a comfort show or a timesink game like an RPG. I see another anon recommended Hades, which I'm seconding; was a godsend when I was sofa-bound from surgery last year. Really addictive, really fun and pretty to boot.

(Also puzzle books, because I'm apparently an old lady in spirit)

I'm guessing it's designed for readability -- you'll be able to tell what angle you're looking at her dress better if it's a contrasting color. (And yeah, agree with the other comment that it's probably also intended to indicate a different type of fabric.)

There’s a promo pic out there with the poofy part colored pink and it honestly looks a little weird because of the trim on her skirt. If it didn’t have the red trim, it probably would’ve looked okay like her OG outfit did.

Well, for me, if the game was good, I'll play it more than once. The point of the secret is that I don't want a bunch of "achievements" to be a substitute for a good game.

I think about some awful games I've played in the past, and you couldn't give me enough achievements to pick those up again.

I haven't yet watched the Witcher, but I agree with this just from the trailers, promotional material alone. He looks hot in that role. I do love a long-haired man.

All of them. As an ace, I'm interested in certain types of relationship dynamics. Changing that up just makes me bored.

I feel ya, I love that character too.

I'm so tired of apartment living and stupid neighbors with no concept of noise. Can't afford my own house though, and I'm not sure there are other affordable places compared to here. I'm being slowly priced out of this unit and I fucking hate it.

It's pretty consistent really.

In some of my ships, I like a bit of role-reversal, with the character who’s a Dom/top in the streets being the sub/bottom in the sheets.

But then other times I just double down and go with the obvious. Case in point:

top!Tony and bottom!Peter (MCU)
top!Harvey and bottom!Mike (Suits)

In that case it’s because I’m into the mentor/mentee dynamic, as well as a dynamic that’s like, a worldly service!Dom who exudes effortless power and confidence but also has a lot of hidden self-loathing (Tony and—to a lesser extent—Harvey) and a very eager, heart-of-gold sub who adores the Dom with every atom in their body, but also has an indomitable inner strength and will give push-back when it’s called for (Peter and—to a lesser extent—Mike). Plus I love the conflicting impulses of the Dom/top, who genuinely and sincerely wants to nurture and protect the sub/bottom...but also very much wants to possess them completely and fuck them senseless. Like, they want to give the bottom the world, for no reason except that the bottom deserves it. But they also want to give the bottom their dick. A lot. And meanwhile the bottom is practically shaking with want, like a dog looking at a stack of hamburgers that’s right there but it can’t have them--like, “I would literally get off in seconds on anything you wanted to do to me. A n y t h i n g.”

Starker is this dynamic to a T, while Marvey is a less quintessential iteration, but in both cases this general dynamic is basically what I'm there for.

Same! I have a dom Castiel preference in SPN but I don’t care if my Marvel or Star Wars ships switch.
