Are you unaware of just how popular a lot of Thai BL is? Because it's really popular and has been for years, or do you only gauge how popular something is by how many western fans are talking about something? Because boy do I have news for you about the relative popularity of east Asian BL.

You think that China is The land of the LGBTQIAA+ opression brigade? Did you forget... nearly every country around the Mediterranean Sea. Did you forget every place where the LGBTQIAA+ ACTUALLY get openly murdered and they just asked for it for being who they are.

Sigh. It's not my place to talk as I am not a descent of people from either place, but can't wait for someone to explain why it is not The worst country in the world in terms of LGBTQIAA+ rights. It IS bad, but it is pretty bad in terms of EVERYTHING Human Rights.

Newsflash: The people writing the gay shit and the people censoring the gay shit and oppressing LGBT people as nd topics? They're not the same people. You're not supporting a totalitarian regime by liking gay novels that get written DESPITE the oppression they're subjected to by said regime.

Also, Thai shows are plenty popular. Personally I don't enjoy them because I prefer the Chinese wuxia/xianxia settings and couldn't care less about modern day romcoms/dramas, which is what most Thai dramas are.

I'd guess access has a lot to do with the perception. I can see Chinese dramas very easily on many U.S. streaming services, but I have to really look for the Thai ones.

Yeah.
Also it seems that the laws became stricter in about 3 recent years. I actually enjoy pre-slash dynamics but it's a bit too strict nowadays. Two actors can't do fanservice for their totally-not-gay movie freely and that's sad. There's also a move for more manly men on screen which also kills variety.
Another country with little openly gay tv output is Korea.

It had a good mix of drama and exploration up until they crash landed the Ark. They should have held that back another couple of seasons, the show was basically spinning its wheels after that.

Favorite True Crime tv shows

Inspired by secret 1, what are your favorite true crime tv shows?


Murder Maps is the top one for me. I also love Evil Lives Here, Crime to Remember, the Innocent Files, Cold Case Files, and Forensic Files are all favorites.

Fear thy Neighbor, A Stranger in My Home, Nightmare Next Door, House of Horrors, and The New Detectives aren't as good, but I still enjoy them.

In general, I prefer anthology-style ones over shows that focus on a single murder for an entire season.
