I have had this issue even though I haven't gone through menopause yet (though I did have a hysterectomy). But I have endometriosis and vaginismus, and I'm often in pain down there. More dry means more pain.

Yeah, it's pretty awful even if you're not sexually active and can get in the way of even being aroused on your own. Which is really really disappointing when even that hurts.
