Re: tiny frustrations
(Anonymous) 2022-12-12 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)My neck has been giving me problems for a couple of years now, so when I want to practise for more than an hour it hurts a lot.
I'm only 32 years old lol

(Anonymous) 2022-12-13 12:06 am (UTC)(link)I’m also in my early 30s and have similar issues with my neck when doing things like collage and embroidery. I’ve found that having an elevated and/or slanted work surface helps.
I’ve seen proper slanting drawing surfaces for cheap on Craigslist and they also seem very DIY-able. (Most of the time I just use a wide, short cardboard box as a desk-top platform.)

(Anonymous) 2022-12-13 12:40 am (UTC)(link)Honestly I believe your issue could be ergonomics-related as well. Growing up (when I used to draw ... more often) I had an used president chair and it was something else. My current chair is an average gaming chair, and it's not the worst but for some reason (maybe my height lol) it forces my neck to bend forward so I have been in pain (good thing I don't actually game that much). Drawing tends to absorb us so it's going to strain your body unless you're fully comfortable. Do check if your chair is appropriate, height- and width-wise.
As a sidenote, may I ask what's the course? Just today I saw someone post on Twitter what they learned in 1 year and I was impressed, in a "I have been drawing for decades yet can't do this" way. This left me wondering if they have great resources or I am the untalented bitch (strongly leaning towards 2 though)

(Anonymous) 2022-12-13 08:13 am (UTC)(link)I can understand what you mean about being fascinated by a certain type a guy I know probably shouldn't fascinate me so much =[
I'm on the reverse end. I wish this creep at my job would stop staring at me so much and lingering around, dragging his feet in hopes that he and I will end up alone together so he can have another opportunity to try to talk to me when I've told him that I'm not interested in him. Leave me alone, stop noticing me.
