tiny frustrations

I wish the guy I have a crush on would look at me the way he looks in a mirror. :( And also, that I could turn off my fascination with the kind of man who checks his hair in every available reflective surface. Goddamnit.

I wish my body wasn't so overly susceptible to bugs. Another sinus infection, and I feel miserable, and I don't have any sick days left and only one vacation day left. Argh. I took a half day today, dreading going back to work tomorrow when all I want to do is sleep.

I started this drawing course online and it's fantastic and I'm already learning a lot of stuff, but I'm maybe too old to begin drawing seriosuly.
My neck has been giving me problems for a couple of years now, so when I want to practise for more than an hour it hurts a lot.
I'm only 32 years old lol

Wish I didn't feel overwhelmed by the amount of things I need to do and organize in life. I would say a good portion are fun things but I am so messy it ends up being a source of stress.

Not exactly a tiny frustration, but there is drama around my fandom going on right now. And I just don't know what else to block. I've curated my social media to hell and back because my mental health can get only so many hits. And now I had to get through stressing shit in fandom space too.

I'm on the reverse end. I wish this creep at my job would stop staring at me so much and lingering around, dragging his feet in hopes that he and I will end up alone together so he can have another opportunity to try to talk to me when I've told him that I'm not interested in him. Leave me alone, stop noticing me.

I am both amused and a bit annoyed that I still haven't received an answer to a question I posed on Quora. I asked a guy to clarify why he thought it was sad that I was favorably comparing Raphael Warnock and Amy Klobuchar. I thought his take was baffling!

HBO Max drama

The showrunner of HBO Max show Minx announced earlier today that the show was cancelled despite them A. being renewed for Season 2, and B. completing filming of Season 2, and that it was ALSO being pulled entirely off the HBO Max platform. I got offline and washed some dishes, and when I came back, it was announced HBO Max cancelled Love Life and is pulling Westworld and The Nevers off the platform (I think so they can shop those shows to other streaming services to make more money off them). What the fuck? Who in their right mind is going to want to work with anything related to WB-Discovery-HBO after this year???

Godammit, Netflix is still pretty bad, but HBO Max is currently the worst streaming service because of bullshit like this! That and what they did to the animated shows like Infinity Train that they bought the exclusive streaming rights to, only to almost immediately take them off for tax right-off, while sitting on the rights so nobody else can do anything with them for the near future. The parent company and all it’s subsidiaries are making the dumbest decisions and it’s baffling.

I know its a dying site that has been going downhill since the eclipse update; but despite the recent bullshit between NFTs and the AI art drama - I'm still pretty sad about the site tanking the way it is.

Mostly because it was one of my early fandom spaces that I was most active in right until the eclipse update. Especially in the times between everything stopping dead on my Livejournal in 2012 and when Tumblr was at its most toxic to a point where I barely communicated with anyone beyond fandom related questions on my fan art blog - it was nice to actually comment with other people and follow fan groups for contests or discussions.
Of course it had its faults and I understand why people left over the years even before the 2020 update, but I guess with being on there for over 10 years to just suddenly see it all go to shit so fast... I guess I just wanted to have a sad whine about it.

If anyone wants to add anything DA related from opinions or maybe following whats been happening, etc..

Pretty much stopped going because of eclipse. (Infinite scroll is the bane of my existence) Technically I still have an account, but I emptied it a while back due to NFT bull. Currently it seems they're trying to 'clean it up' for the advertisers. Per usual, this means hiding anything remotely, well, deviant, and not, you know, hiring more mods, or addressing art theft or anything remotely useful.

Strangely, the thing I miss most is the llama trade. Go figure.

My account is *checks* 15 years old, not my first, has a silly anime name anyway lol. But I never felt like a part of the community? (some 20 years ago I had friends who were very active, so I feel like I experienced it secondhand though.) It's weird but I am a person who draws but hates their drawings so I don't flaunt them (and even when I did I never managed to get an audience). Once in a blue moon I would throw something there. So it works for me as a "digital sketchbook" to which I can go back and check my "progress" once in a while. In short I am kind of glad it's going down with my hideous art lol. So is Twitter apparently and I hope artists from these websites move somewhere else (Tumblr, perhaps?) so I can follow them all in a single place where my stuff isn't visible.

Count me as another person who never felt a part of the Deviantart community. I just go there for fetish porn. But like I think I have a fondness for the kinksters that are there? My account's seven years old, and throughout those times, it's really heartwarming to me to see the same people who are still there doing their thing. People make fun of deviantart porn, but like after dealing with fandom bullying purity spirals that really took a hold of my mental health because I took it seriously, I'm relearning what it's like to just have fun with an unrestrained id/creativity through deviantart, and letting those mental wounds heal.

I can't say if Deviantart is dying. I had fond memories of it when I was a tween looking up fanart, but my main fandom was through fic anyway. I am grateful to see the kinksters still having fun, and trying new things. I recently found out about the process of creating AI art because of a fetish group found on Deviantart. It made me so happy seeing the mod of the group insta-ban a dude because of his antisemitic username. So long as kinksters are catered to, I think that Deviantart will keep on trucking.

I used to post my original fic and poetry there. It’s not mostly a literature site of course but some people use it for that. I actually got a couple of Daily Deviations (she said modestly.) I’d better go back up what I have there in case I don’t have it anywhere else but executive dysfunction is a a big thing for me right now.

I’ve only ever used it for computer related stuff like GeekTool and Windows skins. That part of the site is the same as it was in 2009, just a slightly higher percentage of stuff that goes for a premium now.
Gamer related content and activity is about the same, too, maybe more active than ever tbh.

I’ve never really witnessed any kind of fandom on there, I guess because I never looked for it. Just wallpapers mostly for anything that isn’t game related.

I was probably my most active on DA around the time when Undertale came out. There were so many fan groups for it (my favourite was the undertale fan comic group) and I loved how many fan theories people came up with in the comments as well as all the dumb memes. I only started falling out of love when people's own OC Sans AUs would take over with really specifically over complicated lore (which is something I think Super Eyepatch Wolf covered on Youtube with 'What the Internet Did to Undertale').
Even then, I was following a fan comic series about Sans, Papyrus and Gaster's origins by Zarla for the longest time until the site became unusable.

I was active user 10 or so years ago. Even got a daily deviation one time. I am unpopular artist who is quite bad at marketing and I don't usually got many views. So it was fun and impacted my style for years to come.
But sadly I've never have found my community there so I dropped site long before

The times where I managed to miss the days when my secret submissions get posted and too late to respond to peoples comments.
The one I think of the most was about an Eating disorder-related secret and someone wrote something particularly helpful to me and I was days late in respond in responding orz.
