Feeling Okay, could be better but there's also not enough reasons to complain. I will be spending Christmas away from my husband (we'll be with each of our families for reasons beyond our control) so neither of us is feeling particularly festive. Hopefully there won't be any petty drama with my folks that could implode the holiday but we will see.

Thank you! I was seriously just reminding myself she's a senior bun and we've had some good years together and I was doing everything I can do... then, she actually voluntarily eats again! Not out of the woods by any means, but it's a start.

Oh yikes! My condolences to him. I worked a holiday season as a mail carrier (ended up on parcel duty due to getting a bad wrist injury a couple weeks before Thanksgiving), and I was surprised I remembered my own name towards the end of it.

You would probably like 'Faery in Shadow' (with a prequel novella "The Brothers", which was first published in her 1986 collection of short fiction, Visible Light), and The Dreamstone/The Tree of Swords and Jewels (two novels) by CJ Cherryh.

The former in particular is full of 'fairy' who are absolutely *not* going to give you a wish or help you spin straw or anything. They're scary and ruthless and wield a lot of magic, and you cross them or bargain with them at your peril.

Yeah, I usually try to make them early/mid week, then if I decide I want to redo something, I still have time to submit them before the deadline.

I love how one of HBO Max's biggest hits of the year is about piracy in a year when Warner Bros really shouldn't be supported. They're basically just straight-up shouting "be gay do crime" from the rubble of the disastrous Discovery merger.
