What are you eating for dinner?

I am trying to decide if I want to get takeout or just eat some boxed mac and cheese. I always find it hard to justify takeout even though I have the money for it.

I went to visit my mom real quick and she gave me some soup to take home for dinner!

I also feel guilty getting takeout when I have what to cook at home. But honestly, it's the weekend, I think being the weekend is a justifiable reason to get takeout.

Leftover slowcooker chicken pot pie. It's been, like, 16 degree windchill here for two days.

Stir fry tofu and onion and red bell pepper.

I'd say get the takeout if you'll have enough leftovers for breakfast or lunch tomorrow.

Leftover butter chicken from yesterday. The sauce is from a jar, but it's honestly pretty good, and I actually used fresh chicken breast and seasoned and marinated it properly this time, whereas usually I just toss in some precooked frozen chicken pieces that I buy by the bag.

It is freezing here again. So I'll be staying indoors and crocheting. I need to find a horror movie to watch so any recommendations are welcome!

Video games all weekend until Sunday evening when I’ll scramble to do my homework before the midnight deadline.
We were the heatwave half of America this week and now it’s cooking back down quickly plus rain. Perfect for cozying up with my pups and adventuring across Skyrim.

Crochet sounds good. I have a few skeins of yarn that need winding into balls, so I'll try to figure that out.

It's pretty cold where I am as well. Great weather for staying inside and watching Procreate ( iPad drawing app ) tutorials on Youtube.

Also, laundry.

Hoenn Tour in Pokemon Go. I hope my body will let me at least go as far as the park, and ideally downtown, since incense is basically worthless now unless you can move around a lot. Will be dual-wielding phones, because a friend of mine is having me play for her and paying me in cheap Nutella from Costco, lol.

Hoping to FINALLY get to Ishgard in FFXIV this weekend since I did not last weekend, and then discovered there were a few obstacles in my way that I was unaware of. -_- Three down, one (that I know of) to go. May put that off for awhile because oops for the first time in I don't even know how many years I've found a het ship I like enough to want to write them. (Even smut. They just deserve a good time.)

Also so many litterboxes to clean, since I had the extra cat this week.

I started playing Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and I've fallen in love with Soren/Rhys, but ship content for them is basically nonexistent (literally theres only 1 fic for them on ao3 and I cant find anything elsewhere). I think its cause they have a dynamic I don't see that often in fandom, especially in Fire Emblem fandom.

My old usual - Martha/The Master (Simm) although seeing her with Dhawan would be a treat. (Rare pair and vilified for many valid reasons)

I feel like I was watching a show recently where where I was far more invested in the side characters ... can't recall now, but yeah

...Well there's the eternal one (Sydney/Hardin from Vagrant Story, for anyone who missed it last million times).

And in Tiger & Bunny, I talked myself into Yuri/Keith via writing a fanfic prompt 11 years ago, and that fondness only got stronger over time... it wasn't terribly rare for awhile, it was actually one of the more popular non-main pairings even though it's kind of cracky if you haven't read the manga. The contrast between Yuri's cynicism and Keith's sunshiny golden retriever energy would have been interesting enough just as a concept, but in the manga chapter where they meet out of costume and spend the day together, you get to see Keith's faith in humanity just completely dismantle Yuri's cynicism, to the point where even as he's grumbling about Keith's naivete, he's helping him save people instead of letting criminals get "what they deserve". And thinking about his words days later. <3

With so much time after season 1, people were branching out into somewhat unpredictable ships, and that was one of them! But then season 2 came out and everyone else who was writing it seems to have stopped writing it in favor of other things and so I'm back to only getting new content if I write it. And ... there's not much to re-read either, since even though it was a semi-well-known ship, it's not exactly a big fandom. -_-

Mine is Fandaniel/WoL (Final Fantasy XIV), but only under the very specific criteria of:

WoL is Meteor Survivor
Established WoL/G'raha
Fandaniel full-on Vanessas his way into Meteor's bed and gets him nice and hypnotized, rides his dick while he knows G'raha is seeing it

Needless to say, I do not get much food for my ship, lmao.

I recently came across someone talking about Beric Dondarrion/Jeyne Poole ToT why do I keep finding rarepairs??? It's like I set myself up for heartbreak/disappointment on purpose.

To recap, tl;dr version: Cat had been hanging out in my driveway for two days and acting weird, I brought it inside because I was afraid it was hurt or sick and didn't want it to be alone in the cold, was informed by more cat-savvy people the cat looked scared more than hurt or sick.

Next day I used my lunch break to take the cat to the vet and scan for a chip. We found a match, last updated in 2019! I got the info and made a report with the chip service, so they'd know to contact the owners. (Also the vet tech said it looked like a fixed male.)

As this was going on, ice storm started up in my area and I have had the rest of the week off work. Posted the found pet report in a couple more places, let him just hang out in my basement. Too scared to eat much, but was eating enough to use the litterbox occasionally. Hid under stuff a lot, hissed when I reached for him, but then did absolutely nothing to back it up and kind of vibrated like a precursor to a purr when I petted him.

Today my phone with its crappy battery had like a million missed calls from two numbers and a text message waiting when I realized it had turned itself off. Also had an email waiting. Both actually turned out to be from the same household - a couple who were both listed as contacts for the cat with the chip service - so I got to inform BOTH people that yes, this is their cat! Lost last Friday in this neighborhood, and the guy emailed me a picture of the cat with the girl's name on it - so I sent a text back to the other person going "Oh, so you're [name]!" XD - and the "thumbs" of this cat were visible. This is a 6-toebean cat, so very unlikely we could have a mismatch.

Turns out the guy worked third shift and could come get him whenever, and I was off work this afternoon, and the girl would be home in half an hour so we were going to make arrangements. And then we were like "Oh you live on X St. too?" and... we live two doors down from each other. XD I just carried the cat out into the front yard, looked south, and saw a guy come out of another house, see me, and burst into the BIGGEST grin. :D Indeed, their cat, a very indoor cat who managed to slip out last week with his brother. His brother came back, he didn't, and they'd been worrying about him during the storm.

I'd feel silly having brought the cat inside when his real home was literally like 30 yards from mine, but he had been in my driveway for two days, and there was a winter storm warning. I don't think he had any idea where to go, and was too exhausted and scared to wander around and find his way back. So as much as it sucks that his real humans were worried about him for the last week, while he was so close... at least he was safe and warm and fed the whole time, which is a lot better than leaving him outside with the chance that he might have just been sitting under my car the whole time.

...He really did seem like a sweetie too, underneath the fear. I'm kind of sad I didn't get to keep him. ;) But he is somewhere familiar with his familiar people, being loved on and spoiled now. (I know because once their Chewy delivery came to my house and I opened it without looking, thinking it was mine - their cats get a lot of good stuff!)
