(Anonymous) 2023-03-19 11:47 am (UTC)(link)I went to one near the center of Osaka one evening and it was so bad I got stomach ache for two days.
That was mostly probably because I'm not used to western style fast food, but still. For me it was just plain horrible. Every time I see that logo with the freckled child I shudder...

"Braum's is noteworthy for its level of vertical integration. Almost all the food products sold at Braum's are processed or manufactured directly by the company; Braum's owns its own feed mill, dairy herd, dairy processing plant, bakery, stores, and delivery trucks. It also owns eight farms and ranches with a total area of 40,000 acres, as well as its flagship dairy farm in Tuttle, Oklahoma. Braum's describes itself as the only major ice cream maker to still milk its own cows."

(Anonymous) 2023-03-19 01:45 am (UTC)(link)Besides shawarma, I tend to only go to Subway, because a footlong ham sub with all the vegetables is healthier and (IMO) tastier than whatever burger combo I could get for the same price. Plus I never want the soda, and I barely want the fries, so basically burger combos are just not my thing.

(Anonymous) 2023-03-19 11:51 am (UTC)(link)The only time I got KFC in London I got so sick I passed out in the bathroom. This was back in 2011. What a shitty (ah....) memory.

Re: Fast Food
(Anonymous) 2023-03-19 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)The reason I'm asking is because I live in Canada, and I find McNuggets massively superior to the chicken nuggets at Burger King (which definitely taste like they're 50% chicken at most). However, McNuggets here are expensive. I'm pretty sure ten of them is $8. By contrast, the cost of McNuggets in the US is INSANELY low. Which has made me extremely curious whether US McNuggets are the same as Canadian McNuggets? Because even accounting for economy of scale, I cannot fathom how McNuggets in the US could cost what they do unless they're like 50% wheat/soy/etc.

Re: Fast Food
(Anonymous) 2023-03-19 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)McDonald's is a mixed bag: it's either extremely good and clean, or it's full of screaming weirdos that don't give a flying f-bomb about the food.
Both Market Basket and Wegman's have surprisingly good and cheap fast food for supermarket chains.
There's a bagel place down the road that makes the best lox sandwiches.
