Hell yeah, I'd love to see some historical fiction set in the Amarna period. I've also personally wanted a movie about Hatshepsut for years now.

Have toy read any of Paul Doherty's mysteries set during the reign of Hatshepsut (who is called by the alternate name Hatusu)? The sleuth is the chief judge of the court of Thebes. I have no idea whether they are at all accurate to the period but I liked them, and Hatusu is a force to be reckoned with!
