What was the first ever fanfic/s do you remember reading online? Or from zines or any other alternatives - or even from specific websites?

I believe it was a Han/Leia fic set during Empire Strikes Back. I was 9.

It was a Lord of the Ring fic where Legolas fucks a tree. Lol. My friend was like, "You gotta read this shit."

Rogue/Remy X-Men fic. I couldn't tell you the plot, but I remember looking up comic book stuff and stumbled upon fansites and then discovering fanfic. My little teen mind was blown. The internet was amazing.

It was very shortly after that that I discovered smutty fanfic. I remember reading a Storm/Jubilee shower fic and was kind of outraged at the pairing but definitely kept reading the fic. Baby's first lesbian exposure. What fond memories.

My first ever was on adultffnet that was linked through an X-Men Evolution forum; which was a pretty dark fic shipping Kurt/Lance.
Then on ffnet It was a Kurt/Todd (X-men evolution) fic where they both got high and horny together.

On Quizilla it was a Y/N and Sesshoumaru fanfic (alongside soooo many oc vampire fics, where all of them had 'satin/silky bedding' lol).

Then on AO3, someone on Tumblr linked their Attack on Titan Levi/Eren Coffee Shop AU and eventually got me into making an account to keep up.

I can't remember the first fic I ever read, but the first fic I remember extremely vividly is The Last Summer by Annie Sewell-Jennings--a long, wildly angsty Spuffy fic in which a numb, nihilistic Buffy has fled to Australia in the wake of a nuclear apocalypse, where she runs into a still-evil Spike, who happens to be the last surviving person from her old life.

To be honest, I'm pretty sure if I reread this fic now I'd find the prose purple, and I'd find the angstiness way too OTT for my current tastes. But reading it at fourteen, it BLEW MY MIND. I think it was the first long fic I read all the way through and I balled my eyes out for the last several thousand words and then walked around in a morbid, angsty daze for several days.

An Itachi/Naruto fic where Itachi was a spy infiltrating the Akatsuki. I made a secret about this once! The funny thing is, English isn't even my first language, I just stumbled upon the site, looked up Naruto Fics and clicked on that one, and read it through Google Translate.

I know it was Sailor Moon and it was from a Sailor Moon library website (I think it was called something along the lines of Moonlight Romance).

I can vividly remember the page of the website but I can not recall the actual first fic I ever read.

I didn't read it online, but I made my dad print out a Star Wars fanfic at work on his dot matrix printer.

It was a Lord of the Rings + Star Trek crossover fic that I made my mom print out off the computer lol

It was definitely something from Queen of the Damned. I was a huge Armand/Daniel fan.

I don't remember the name or author (it wasn't on LJ or big site like that) - it was Sentinel fanfic with a very woobied Blair who was hurt or abused or something? And of course Jim to the rescue.

I had not one clue what I was reading, just that I had been searching for some m/m literature that didn't include massive depression and eventual death with lots of self-hate in between, and stumbled across THAT.

Yay, first day of the rest of my fandom life. :D

It was either a YYH fic featuring (iirc) an OFC who had Kurama as her sex slave. There was fan art and I was about 13-14 and had never heard of sounding before. I was so confused and in complete disbelief that this happened in the show. I just didn't want to believe it.

The better fic (with screen caps interspersed) was an Inuyasha fic where in Kagome and Koga decide to get together, mate, and the whole pack howls with joy at the fact that Kagome will be their pack mother. I also thought this was a real episode, since I hadn't been able to watch all of Inuyasha until some 10-15 years later.

I'm going to guess it was something Ranma 1/2, because when I got online and discovered the term "fanfiction" and found that there were sites dedicated to it, that was one of the few things that was REALLY widespread.

Sailor Moon too, but I don't actually remember reading fanfic about that for some reason.

I think the first ones I ever seriously read with interest rather than just a source of "oh, people other than me do this?" were in the Final Fantasy 7 fandom, that was the first actual "fandom" I truly participated in.

Something from Get Real, had seen the movie and was googling to read more about it, clicked on a link and ... omg! A whole new world was opened to me!

Sailor Moon x some other anime I never watched crossover (Tenchi Muyo? Aa Megami Sama??) and I don't remember anything except it was supposed to be haha-fun (like some 10 yos kinda fun) and something about a colorful ice cream. The image of the yummy colorful ice cream was burnt in my mind, the fic not so much but I did reread it a few times then.

Backstreet Boys. I'm sure it was like a...Geocities hosted site? I was probably 13-14 (middle school for sure), and I found a fanfic about Nick Carter harboring a gay crush on Brian and not knowing how to cope with it.

I'm laughing so hard thinking about it, because it was a pretty innocent fic, it wasn't explicit.
But the fandom LOST OUR SHIT when we read the fic. Some fans were tinhatting about Brian and Nick really being in love. Others saw it in a good humor way, saying Nick and Brian's friendship can be seen a bit gay. But living in the late 90s/2000, most people were pissed that anyone would even insinuate that Nick was gay.

A Buffy/Spike fic where they got married, lived happily ever after and had many, many babies. I remember being confused and amused at how wildly wrong the whole concept was.

Probably Mr. L fanfiction on ffn. he was my first Favorite Character Ever until Oersted took the spot, lol.

honestly it was probably The Very Secret Diaries back when the LOTR movies came out

I've been getting aggravated by not being able to book a haircut - either everywhere is booked up or I had gotten a long weird speech about how I would look nicer with my hair grown out or stylized in a way I absolutely do not have time for x_x Getting more and more tempted to by an electric razor and just shave it all off.
