Personally? I had a productive weekend. Watched a horror movie, got farther into Breath of the Wild and Signalis, and crocheted a bit.

A couple of games I am interested had some trailers come out today.
Clockwork Revolution looks very Bioshock Infinite. https://youtu.be/DDFuhaYxeMU

I'll have to wait for some gameplay from South of Midnight but it looks interesting. https://youtu.be/h2Z-8Y8r5ss

Ohhh South of Midnight has my interest for sure. Like you said, going to have to wait to see what gameplay is like but I love the style and def looks interesting.

It’s finally the weekend (I work Thursdays through Sundays), yay! I had a surprisingly serene day at work, got some groceries, had ice cream for dinner, and a burger and fries for dessert. I’m going to spend a lot of time with my Tears of the Kingdom this “weekend”. I just wish any of the fanfics I’m following would update; one of them used to update every week, but the author is human, the schedule has slipped, and I’m left here wondering for the hundredth time if I’m actually a curse on WIPs.

Reddit's started going dark in protest of the planned changes and lmao I am in full support of this blackout but also my reddit addiction is not impressed at the forced detox we're gonna be going through these next few days.

I asked my co-mod if we should private ours but like...no admin has even heard of our tiny subreddit. But if any of our users mention it, I'll put it on private. Considering we get like...one post a day, no one will.

I'm still astonished at how badly Reddit has handled this whole situation.

Even without lowering the API fees, it feels like just delaying the implementation and not communicating so completely poorly in every way would have solved 80% of the problem with the userbase.

I'm kiiinda thankful for it because I really need to take a break from reddit but at the same time, it's the place I get most of my info about what's going on in my city so that's kind of a bummer (also plants and cats! my plants and cats subreddits!).

We're so damned exhausted from work that neither of us managed to adult all weekend. We normally meal plan and clean a bit, and I had just bought a patio loveseat. It's sitting in it's box in our living room because we don't have enough spoons to put it together. I have no idea what we're going to eat this week. Also, I noticed that my posts on tumblr weren't showing up in the tags so I think I've been shadowbanned. I'm waiting to hear back. :(

This weekend has been super productive and lovely! I got all my propagated plant babies in individual little pots, got a moss pole on my vining monstera, got ALL THE DISHES WASHED, and managed to get some base colors on this four panel comic blowjob scene. So that's nice!

Also kinda dreading the work week because I have so many meetings, a couple of resets, I need to do some courtesy audits for one of my brands (I'm a merchandiser), and I need to hit a couple of stores that are pretty far north. AND it's a four day week for me! So I'm gonna have to be hauling ass to get all of this done. But after these four days of work, I have four days off, so I'm really looking forward to that, haha.

I thought it rocked. Fun popcorn type movie.

I just woke up from a nice nap. It is pouring rain here and it may be hailing. I'm just about to eat delicious salmon and orzo.

I have a big zit in my eyebrow that will probably come to a head tomorrow but hurts a lot right now, and I popped two of my fake nails off yesterday shutting the sliding glass door to the backyard and they hurt. Wah.

Well at some point in the future Trump croaks and I throw a party, even if it's just my ghost having an invisible ghost rave by itself.

Last night I got lots of sleep, but had lots of nightmares. Today I helped my aunt assemble a raised garden bed and all my joints hurt even before we started, including in my hands. Now I've had food, ibuprofen, caffeine, and a multivitamin and I still hurt every damn where.

I'm gonna be 40 soon and I'm scared I'm starting to take after my uncle, who's only 70, but has bad enough psoriatic arthritis that anything but slow short ambling walks are torture.

Gonna go take a walk because I already feel like ass and resting won't help.

Freaking out about changes at work and of course I'm inwardly resisting everything while on the surface, going along with everything. I just don't know, realistically, how they expect ME to keep on top of all of this important, high stakes, high demand shit. Being competent in one area doesn't mean I'll have any clue of how to handle shit in another area. I keep wishing a thousand times over that they'll assign this duty to somebody else, someone who doesn't mind being put on the spot at random. Because I hate that shit, I never know what the fuck's going on, even when I take notes and review them. And even when I *think* I'm on top of things, some asshole throws a curveball ("Oh, I see all the reasoning and proof for this resolution that you checked on repeatedly, but are we *really* sure it's *really* resolved? Tee hee! Better be sure!") and I just look like a dumb incompetent shit as usual.

Just completed a weekend with family due to a relatives funeral.

Came to a state I'd never been to before. Met/reunited with a lot of cousins.

Waiting at the airport, a little upset that my flight has been delayed by an hour

Patreon Question

(Anonymous) 2023-06-11 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Dumb question probably buuuuut..

Could a person make money on patreon just writing long stories and dropping them maybe chapter by chapter or in chunks? Is there a market for something like that and is it hard to do?

Re: Patreon Question

(Anonymous) 2023-06-11 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Short answer, yes it's possible but it's unlikely you'll make money unless you have an existing fanbase that you develop somewhere else

Whenever there's a book discussion I always take notes of books that seem interesting. There seem to have been a lot of those threads lately and I have quite a few books added to my list, which is always exciting. So thank you!
