Not a secret: I think the creators/writers of Dawson’s Creek, How I Met Your Mother, and Teen Wolf all had serious target fixation issues with their lead male characters, Dawson Leery, Ted Mosby, and Scott McCall.

Also not a secret: I liked Pacey Witter, Marshall Eriksen, and Stiles Stilinski so much more.

Secret: I never wanted any of the shows to make Pacey, Marshall, or Stiles the lead because even though I enjoyed how their characters were written for the most part, I’m pretty sure the creators/writers focus on them in that way would have damaged their characters.

I have never heard the phrase target fixation. Gonna have to look that up. But I'm bored, so at least I have something to do for a hot second.

Yes to the second two, but I don't think that works for Dawson's Creek. Dawson got the career he wanted, but Pacey got the girl. If it had been like HIMYM, Dawson and Joey would have gotten back togehter.
