Damn I'm really starting to resent official danmei releases. I mean, not really, I think it's nice they exists and I'm looking forward to owning a physical copy. But I'm still super salty atm that my favourite novel got licensed and thus the translation got nuked and now I'll have to wait at least two years, roughly estimated, to continue reading where the translation left off and I'm sad.

Uggghh... I had five long shifts (12h) in a row and, as a cherry on top, my DND session got cancelled because of the storm.

I'm watching hockey right now, Blackhawks @ Bruins. Young phenom Conner Bedard is playing. And look, the kid is good; he got his first NHL goal several minutes ago, and it was a fast, slippery beauty of a wraparound.

But they're talking about this poor kid (he's only 18!) like he's the second coming. They had this montage in the pre-game show with the big names in the league talking about how amazing and important he is, and I'm like holy shit, how heavy do his shoulders have to feel right now?

I see his babyface and his nervous, limb-shaking energy and all I can think is, "stop putting all your hopes and dreams on him! You're gonna crush him!"

First week of work is never great and I always tell myself that it’s ok to make mistakes during the first week bc I’m still learning but. went nonverbal for the first time in a while and I think it’s just a lack of sleep. I’m usually better at masking.

Tired of feeling like I'm wrong for participating in fandom, especially events where younger folk are. Not in a creepy/anti/DNI way, but it just feels like nobody my age is interested in the things I like to do. Because they've all gotten lives and are doing adult stuff and don't have time for childish stuff. And I just feel like this is one more place where I don't belong, no matter how much I want to participate. It sucks because I feel like I have to keep my distance and not mingle too much. I don't want to have to choose between actually having any kind of friends and doing things I actually enjoy.

I can't even phrase my whine in a way that makes sense and doesn't inadvertently tarnish someone's reputation at the same time. (They don't deserve that.)

Yes I want some cheese. Since I've started a new underpaid job at ungodly early hours in the morning I have no social life anymore. I had to cancel the cheese & no-wine night we hadp planned with my friends. They had raclette without me once already. I miss my friends. I miss eating cheese with my friends. I hate this job and I want another life than this. But just getting cheese would be good.

Most of the time no, but for a few ships I do because my brain just really, really wants to see one half get railed over the other. It's purely shallow: if I find one more attractive I'll want to read about them getting wrecked.

Omega/Alpha would only be a preference if I had a top/bottom one already, if not then no, I wouldn't care.

My current OTP is two men, and I do actually prefer fics where Guy A tops and Guy B bottoms solely because *I* think it's hot. However, I think in canon they would switch on-and-off, and since 99.9% of fandom writes Top!A/Bottom!B I do make an effort to write Bottom!A/Top!B fics, or to at least mention in the story that Guy B is bottoming this time and he'll top later under different circumstances.

(Bizarrely, same ship, but I only like Alpha!A/Omega!B because I think it fits their personalities better. I have read one or two decent Omega!A/Alpha!B stories, though.)

I don't have a hard preference but I have soft ones where I find one way hotter.

For me it's not a preference so much as a "this is how I see the dynamic going between these two characters." Like for one of my ships, I think they absolutely switch all the time. But for another one? I just can't see it as anything other than A topping/B bottoming just based on their personalities and the way they interact with each other.

Not really. I have preferences about Dom/sub roles, though. I just don't really like equating that to penetration roles, or thinking a certain personality type is more likely to be a penetrator or get penetrated. D/s seems more obviously connected to a person's personality.

I'm not into A/B/O.

Only for a couple characters. I have more preferences regarding dom/sub (don't do ABO).

I have a strong preference for switching personally, regardless of the pairing, but I will sometimes form a top/bottom or dom/sub or alpha/omega preference for a ship based on which orientation tends to be better-characterized by writers in the fandom (i.e., which is written in a way that's more in line with canon) if one orientation is written markedly better than the other by most.

The strongest example I can think of is narusasu. There are... some good sasunaru writers out there, to be sure, but like... yeah nah narusasu is overwhelmingly closer to canon the way the vast majority of fans do it.
