ACAB doesn't mean "get rid of all police". It means that the system is inherently unjust, most crimes can be prevented with better public services from public servants who aren't armed, a lot of crimes have no victims and are used as an excuse to target minorities, the current police training is woefully lacking and attracts people who want to be bullies, police are over-militarized and encouraged to use violence as a first resort, the system fosters a culture of irresponsibility and worship of authority, and anyone who actually tries to perform a policing service for the community is fired, run out, or killed by intentional neglect. But that's too long to work into a chant and doesn't fit on a protest sign, so they shorten it to ACAB because the only cops left after the good ones are run out, fired, or killed with intentional neglect are bastards who uphold the system.

Slogans need to be short.

+1, I have an auditory processing disorder that makes loud shrieks and laughs physically painful for me. But I don't go around demanding that kids be banned from public places! I just avoid likely kid-heavy areas as much as possible and (when it's not possible) earplugs.

I mean, I live in one of those places. I still don't want the cop we used to have who would offer young female drivers the chance to avoid a fine. Or the cop who got moved on after being caught on camera boasting about how many [racial slur]s he took down this week and how we should kill them all with a bulldozer. I want basic, competent policing.

Yeah, no. I really dislike kids. I wish there were more restaurants that catered to only adults. I wish there were flights that catered only to adults. I actually have taken a train car that was adults only, and it was lovely.

I'm not going to complain that there are kids at the showing of a disney movie. I HAVE complained loudly and bitterly when someone brought their toddler to Watchmen.

You get into a fandom or activity that is nominally designed for children, you're going to get a lot of kids. Deal with it like an adult.

DA I block by topic on Tumblr and don't use Twitter at all. I don't really feel the need to block "politics" on DW because the people I have on my friends list do post about politics but are generally pretty sensible about it, and even if I disagree they're still coming from a reasonable place, not trying to stir up drama/attention like on other platforms.

Knowing nothing about doll collecting, this seems backwards to me. Having collector dolls or marketing to collectors seems more like a cash grab to me. It's inherent in the idea that you have to buy them all to be a collector. There's no expectation that the kid is going to get them all.
