I see your point and somewhat agree. But personally I dont care about reading female focused fic because I don't care about reading fic too close to home, so to speak. Having male characters gives me a little distance

That being said I do love to watch shows with awesome ladies, I just don't do fandom for those shows.

(Anonymous) 2023-11-28 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
At least you're self-aware and honest about it. A lot of people in fandom, rather than acknowledge this, have to search for reasons why every single woman is a terrible person and should be done away with.

+100

(Anonymous) 2023-11-28 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Same! I love watching movies and tv about awesome women, there are not enough of them! But I don't do fandom for them cause, yeah, too close to home. I'm mostly in fandom for the porn, emotional or otherwise. I'm also aroace, so I won't want to be reading about anything that could be even close to hinting about a relationship/sex with anyone close to being me. No, thank you.

"I'm mostly in fandom for the porn."

"I'm ace."

Words have no meaning.

(Anonymous) 2023-11-28 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
Do you... do you think ace people don't have sex drives? Also notice the "emotional or otherwise." JFC. Learn a thing before you open your mouth next time.

(Anonymous) 2023-11-28 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
Ace people with sex drives aren't ace.

"Asexual" is a complete lack. That's what the "a" prefix means. This idea that it's a "spectrum" or that someone can have sexual impulses but not be sexual is nonsense from ordinary people who want in on being queer.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2023-11-28 02:25 am (UTC)(link)

Asexual is when one doesn't feel sexual attraction to other people. It has nothing to do with a person's libido or sex drive.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2023-11-28 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
I understand that that's what people have told themselves. Just like they've told themselves that it's asexual to have to get to know someone before you want to sleep with them. And it's asexual to be attracted to your boyfriend and to fucking him but not want to fuck Chris Hemsworth.

And it's nonsense. All of it.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2023-11-28 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Ahhh, so you're a bigot denying the existence of an entire group of people. Cool coolcoolcoolcoolcool....

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2023-11-28 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
It's bigotry in the same way that it's bigotry to say that people who think they're made of glass are suffering from a delusion.

This whole idea that you can call yourself whatever you want and everyone has to go along with it or they're "denying you're existence" is nonsense and narcissism.

Literally no asexual says those things, you're just listening to a small group of weird exclusionists who go around making false claims about asexuals to make them sound crazy and justify kicking them out of the queer community.

You can not want to have sex yourself but enjoy reading about two guys banging.

I'm not sure why it's hard to understand their point here.

I'm nonviolent, but I like watching murder mysteries.

AYRT

Wow. You're absolutely wrong.

Asexual – A term used to describe someone who does not experience sexual attraction toward individuals of any gender. Asexuality is a sexual orientation, and is different from celibacy, in that celibacy is the choice to refrain from engaging in sexual behaviors and does not comment on one's sexual attractions.

Is this allosplaining? Cause it seems like an ace person would know better than an allo person what it's like to be ace.

Again, better to keep your mouth shut and let people assume you're an idiot than to open it and remove all doubt.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2023-11-28 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Allo" is itself nonsense. There's no need for it, as the "a" in "asexual" denotes a lack. The opposite of "asexual" is "sexual," not "allosexual." You might as well be saying "ATM machine" or "PIN number."

I'm aware that your in-group has developed specific lingo for itself. This does not meant that lingo isn't silly outside the club, where words have definitions that need to suit the language more broadly. "Frame" doesn't mean the same thing to you as it does to a red piller. That doesn't mean the red piller holds all the rights to its definition and you're "bluesplaining" to them by pointing on that it's ridiculous.

Do you really think ace people don't consume porn or masturbate or have sexual feelings? All being ace is is not having sexual attraction to people. I enjoy all the above but never in a "I'm imagining me having sex" or a "I want that" kind of way.

Also, if you can't differentiate sexual feelings vs sexual attraction....you might be due for some solid introspection.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2023-11-28 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Someone who masturbates or has sexual feelings is not asexual.

I'm replying to this anon without actually replying to this anon, because this anon is clearly just entirely hopeless in their gate-keepy ways, so this reply is for anybody who labels themselves asexual who might be feeling invalidated by the utter trash-fire of opinions that this anon is spouting:

If you feel that the ace label fits you, use it.

If you think you are ace but realize at a later point your feelings on the matter gain more clarity and change, then feel free to use another label

The labels we use aren't an immutable law of the universe, we make them up so we can better explain our own feelings and find a community were we feel we can be better understood, but sexuality is hardly ever set in stone in utter black and white; it is a spectrum, and it's wholly normal if you feel like you can't find your precise spot in said spectrum.

Ignore this anon and people like them, exclusionism is bullshit and so are they ✨

Basically same. M/m scratches my itch to read about romance and sex, but including women gets too close to home pretty fast.
I do enjoy more gen m/f and f/f, just more rarely
