You didn't know RE4 was an action game before you played it?

Anyway. The remake was amazing obviously.

AYRT.

Oh thank you anon! But yeah, all of his 'oh I'm just SO useless' thing was an act so that people would assume he was too spoiled/dumb to learn how to fight and yet I've seen so many people in the fandom just take his act as who he really is and it's like... the shit? Does the last act of the show not exist or something??

(Anonymous) 2024-01-25 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
And even then, when he, LWJ and WWX are trapped in the temple, you can see him... fighting! Not with a sable but he could avoid some zombies and use a stick to push them. He's an interesting character and I don't know what bothers me more: The trans HCs or the lack of merch.

Yep! The sap runs in the spring, when the trees are waking up after winter. It's not worthwhile (or nice to the trees) to tap in the autumn, when they're cozying up for winter.

All of my money for trans!Nie Mingjue fic ngl. I would 100% love to read that.

(Anonymous) 2024-01-25 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
For that matter, there are ginger folks with no freckles to speak of (hellooooo Danny Elfman).

(Anonymous) 2024-01-25 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Probably would have preferred this approach for Titus Andronicus.

Re: Media with sequels that should have stayed a standalone

It's an anthology of rabbit myths among other things, and like many anthologies it tends to be a mixed bag at best.

(Anonymous) 2024-01-25 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man, those hit the spot when I'm in the mood for it.

(Anonymous) 2024-01-25 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
PREACH. I have never seen fanart of a character who canonically doesn't have freckles drawn with with freckles that looks good. I reckon it's all people who don't have freckles making those.

The first Wreck-It Ralph movie is a rainy day, comfort movie for me. I quit watching the sequel about 45 minutes in.

I'm also amazed at how hard DC whiffed the Wonder Woman series - the first movie wasn't perfect, but I loved it and it seemed like the flaws would have been easy to improve on. Wonder Woman 1984 was dogshit. So on one hand, I wish the sequel never happened. But also, from the opposite standpoint... it's freakin' Wonder Woman. How do you not at least milk a trilogy out of that??

(I remembered Shazam 2 and Aquaman 2 and thought maybe I should say "all DCEU sequels," but then I remembered "The Suicide Squad," which I haven't seen yet but I know a lot of people enjoyed.)

He's OP's evil fandom bicycle.

You are being annoying.

If she wants to suck at writing, that's her problem and not yours. She has to figure out what she needs to do in order to improve (and that's assuming she even wants to and isn't just complaining for attention).

Chances are she'll stop talking about her writing around you if you don't show any interest in it (or behave in an indifferent manner to her complaints).

*snerk*

(Anonymous) 2024-01-25 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Oof, yeah. That would annoy me too. And I'm sure I was guilty of similar in the past.

(Anonymous) 2024-01-25 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
Who joined besides Palmela and Handrea?

All together now: "TEN YEARS OOOOOOLD!"

(Anonymous) 2024-01-25 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
In a world where reading/writing fanfic counts as activism, this is the performative stuff you get so people can feel proud of themselves for what would normally be just... crappy, clumsy writing.

(Anonymous) 2024-01-25 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
I've never read her books but now I'm curious just because I want to know how weird she got about the whole maple syrup thing.

Mortal Kombat. That sequel in the 90s bored me almost to sleep in the theatre.

(Anonymous) 2024-01-25 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know if that's also a problem in the books, I haven't read them. But the secret isn't about something happening in October, it's about a character named October "Toby" Daye saying that her mother, Amandine, is tasting the "death of trees" in maple syrup.

(Anonymous) 2024-01-25 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
...Could I have the link about how to network in the publishing industry? If she doesn't want your help, I certainly wouldn't mind getting it instead lol.

(Anonymous) 2024-01-25 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
I did play it when it first came out, and I remember finding the switch to action jarring at first. I ended up loving the game, though, but I can understand why you feel that way.

(Anonymous) 2024-01-25 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
I mean, it's not too weird, just jarring when you know that maple syrup has nothing to do with autumn.

(Anonymous) 2024-01-25 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
But "death of trees" implies fall/autumn, whereas maple syrup by necessity happens when the trees are at their most "active", when the sap is running fastest.
