I get the amusement factor, but I just think he likes the attention.

MTE.

Doesn't everyone?

(Anonymous) 2024-03-18 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
No. I for one would not.

Are you an author or working in another creative field?

DA
I'm an artist and I live with my art, but I prefer to limit my interaction with the public as much as possible and I find any attention on myself deeply uncomfortable. I prefer to direct the attention solely to my art. I don't even care to explain the "meaning" of my painting or why I do what I do.
I want the public to experience my work only through their own experience with the piece itself. My personality distracts from it and too much focus on me hinders my creativity.
I'm not a rare case...

(Anonymous) 2024-03-18 11:35 am (UTC)(link)
But it's also not rare for people to want their art to bring attention to themselves.

AYART
YEP! I totally agree. I wasn't trying to imply otherwise.
I just wanted to point out that being a creative and not wanting attention are not mutually exclusive. There's a lot of people like me as there's a lot of people who crave/need attention on their persona.
No pattern is the "superior" or "more valid" one. People are just different and approach art and notoriety that could derive from it differently.

Yes. And I for sure want my work to be popular, but I dont want any of the attention. Let me live in a cave and people love my art but have no interest in me.

What makes you think that you're the norm?

(Anonymous) 2024-03-18 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Who said I thought I was?

(Anonymous) 2024-03-18 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
On that level? Not too many would, I imagine. Fans can be super annoying, lmao.
