What movies have you seen in an IMAX theater?

Pretty sure I saw that a Michael Jackson flick when I was a kid. And then one of those nature documentaries narrated by Jim Carrey.

I never have. This isn't a hipster style humblebrag, well not entirely, but mostly it is just there has never been one near me when a movie I wanted to see was out. It just never came up. Plus, I admit, I am a bit tight with money and I probably had in the back of my mind a little voice screaming at me about the price. Is it worth me doing so, maybe with Deadpool 3, is that even going to be out in imax?

The only ones I have seen at an IMAX theatre was Five Nights at Freddy's and Black Adam. Enjoyed both, but probably would have felt the same at a regular theatre if I had just gone by myself instead of with my friends.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Dark Knight, a couple of the Harry Potter movies...

Most recently Oppenheimer

Probably a few others over the years, but those are the ones I remember.

the most memorable one I saw was Rolling Stones to the Max. one of the definitions of a good concert movie is if you watch it and feel like you were at the concert. With that one you feel like you're actually on the stage with the Stones!

Deep Sky, a documentary on the making of the Webb telescope. Did I cry? Yes. Space is fascinating.

That's the only movie I remember watching on IMAX. I'm sure I've seen at least one as a child, but I don't remember what it was, lol.

I saw Gravity in IMAX 3-D. It was awesome!

Also, I make it a point, when I visit any museums that have them, to watch a documentary in the original real IMAX format (the curved screen dome). I love feeling like I'm swooping around with the camera.

Most recently Dune 2. I've seen a lot in IMAX honestly. I really like seeing things on a really big screen.

Other than short films at museum theaters, the only one I've seen is James Cameron's Avatar. I fell asleep about halfway through. I never fall asleep during regular theater movies, so maybe IMAX is actually sleep-inducing for me or maybe the movie was just that boring.

Just Gravity. It was a great experience, but I find normal theatres special enough that I've never felt the need to go to another movie in IMAX.

All about AUs

(Anonymous) 2024-03-27 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
What are your favorite AUs to read/write?
What AUs do you wish there were more of?

Or - specifically for a fandom of your interest - are there any AUs like canon divergence/everybody lives nobody dies/everything is the same but X/Post-canon/etc that you like or would like there to be more of?

Re: All about AUs

Before Golden Circle came out...Harry lives AUs were my jam in the Kingsman: The Secret Service fandom.

For DS9, there was an AU that was based on the episode Second Skin but with Dr Bashir as a Cardassian spy.
With that said, I would also like an AU where the rest of DS9 had Kira actually be a Cardassian too.

I love mob/mafia AUs. Especially the protective mob boss trope.

There are also a lot of fandoms where I only enjoy fic before certain events (The Walking Dead, MCU, Sherlock when I was into that).

ETA: Thought of another. Time loops but only when it is not comedy.

What fanon changes that everyone seems to accept do you absolutely love?

(Anonymous) 2024-03-27 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
For instance, in My Hero Academia fandom a lot just accept that Mineta is gone or was never there (usually replaced by Hitoshi). As someone who hates Mineta, this pleases me.

What fanon changes that everyone seems to accept do you absolutely hate?

(Anonymous) 2024-03-27 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Inspired by the thread above it.

Mine is hate, hate, hating MTV Teen Wolf fandom's insistence & Jeff Davis' eventual canon confirmation of recovering alcoholic Sheriff Stilinski.

Also, kind of inspired by secret #2, some fans' characterizations of Juliet O'Hara as a hopeless romantic or the "sunshine."

What's on your mind, F!S?

(Anonymous) 2024-03-27 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I skipped class tonight and feel guilty about it.

I'm lonely.

...I don't actually know what day the family I'm house/dogsitting for is coming home.

I'm debating making dinner.

What's on your mind?

Befunky issues...

(Anonymous) 2024-03-28 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
https://www.befunky.com/

I know I'm not the only person who uses this site for making secrets, because someone on here recced to me ages ago. But lately, it seems like when I try to save my ages, the end result looks poor quality and the text is all pixellated or something? It's not consistent but I have no idea why, or how to fix it. Is this happening to anyone else?

If anyone has more technical know-how than I do (which isn't hard), any idea why this is happening?
