Gaming!

What video game are you all playing right now? Or would like to play? What are your experiences like? Joys? Woes?

Just dove back into Stardew Valley. Enjoying my shiny new Meadowlands farm! I only play for an in-game day or two at a time because A. I just don't have the energy/attention span right now and B. the no save/time management stresses me out if I play too long lol

I started Horizon Zero Dawn and loved it but I haven't felt like sitting down to a commitment game, if you know what I mean. I'll get back to it though!

I love HZD. Now that Forbidden West has finally PC ported, I'm eagerly awaiting the day it will get a nice deep discount so I can buy it!

Currently playing Genshin Impact, Dragon's Dogma 2, Baldur's Gate 3, Final Fantasy 7 re...whatever

Genshin: Pretty boring atm. That new banner they implemented hated me just as much as the weapon's banner. Still burnt out on Fontaine/never really warmed up to it so all the quest I still have there remain unfinished.

Dragon's Dogma 2: making my way through it slowly. There is a lot to do. Just like the first one, I mainly enjoy the gameplay and scenery, the plot is pretty uninteresting again. Pawns more or less talking to each other can be kinda cute. They're still pretty dumb though. Something I find fascinating is how the devs actually changed the dumbass "romance" system from the first game only to end up with something that's almost as bad, just in a different way. Guys, if you're gonna halfass it again, just leave it out entirely! I promise nobody is playing this game for the romance!

Baldur's Gate: Bit the bullet and loaded my only pre-messup save from the end of Act 1. Have to make my way through all of Act 2 now but I was just too angry at the bug to just finish it with the state I arrived at. I'm not super motivated though and Dragon's Dogma is eating most of my gaming time atm.

Final Fantasy 7: Playing together with a friend so it's very slow going because of scheduling. Not really feeling it, to be honest. Dislike the more explicit romance options. Hate the weirdo characters showing up that the game expects you to magically know but they're from some mobile game I never played and look like they're straight out of Kingdom Hearts so I'm just confused. Not sure where that whole alternate timeline stuff is going and am not a fan so far.

I'm playing BG3 and as long as I don't get in my own head about it, things go well (I often will make a decision and then by like WAIT WAS THAT RIGHT???? because this game feels so huge and like every decision seems to have outcomes I do not prepare for).

I’m back in Skyrim and loving it! My computer unfortunately updated Vortex and so Vortex decided to update my mods, which broke everything because I hadn’t updated past the 5.9whatever version. It took a few hours to get things working, I ultimately had to update Skyrim because legacy versions of some of my updated mods don’t exist. SOS is acting a little weird (like hilarious proportions sometimes)but otherwise it works. And it feels so good to be back in that world! I did thieves guild this weekend and next I plan to just wander across the realm with my adventuring party and clear caves and bandit hideouts. We’ll head home to check on the kids and pets (6 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats) and the rest of the party. I swap people out so someone is always home and I love coming back and seeing everyone relaxing around the dining table and chilling in the comfy chairs in front of the fireplace. Quest lines are great but domestic life is the best.

I wanted to play AFK Journey, a mobile game and RPG spinoff of AFK Arena with a few of the Arena characters also appearing in it. Looked kinda nice at first. But then I saw the official Twitter(sorry ~X~) post an info graphic for one of the characters that implied a romance that is a complete asspull, didn't exist in Arena, is majorly OOC for both involved characters and just pisses me off. And because I'm petty I uninstalled the game again there and then. Because hell no.

I'm still chugging casually along in my 3rd BG3 game while doing some Ex mount farming in ff14 with friends. We've got some cat mounts to get!

Getting back into Valheim as I never quite reached the current "end." Obviously this will change in coming months when the new biome is completed.

I also bought Sea of Stars and if I have the time, will start that up before Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes drops in under 3 weeks.

sa

Might quit Valheim for a while. One bad group can really shit all over your day. Meh.

Currently actively playing Vampire Survivors (working on finishing every map with every character), AI: The Somnium Files, and Final Fantasy Type-0 (while both of those two are oldish, it's my first time through either (sort of...second start on AI, but I forgot about it after day one the first time)). Enjoying them both, but Type-0's combat can be a bit...frustrating (it keeps targetting already dead enemies because I'm not close enough to the living ones when I try to target, and boy do ALL the melee characters save Sice and Seven suck hard).

I've also got games of NEO:The World Ends With You, Cult of the Lamb, Mass Effect 2, and Arkham Asylum going that I'm not actively playing, but haven't 'officially' abandoned. (Mass Effect 2 is the only one of the lot that I've finished before, but this is the first time with all the DLC.)

Point and click games. It's relaxing.

I've got a silly little game I haven't gotten the chance to sit down with yet, the Rifftrax game. And I'd like to get back to Coral Island when I have some time!

Phasmaphobia! Love it. Wish I had a non horror version though.

I've been alternating between a few. Horizon zero dawn, Ultrakill, Minecraft, No Man's Sky, Baldur's Gate 1...

Just whatever I'm feeling on the moment. I do wanted to catch-up to games I get when 90% off and then leave gathering dust, or Epic's freebies.

Recently returned to playing Summoners War: Sky Arena. It's a turn based battling, monster collecting gatcha game but I like it anyway. Mostly for the artstyle but the monster skills are cool, too. Don't love the company in charge of the game, just the game itself. I had only stopped a few years back because my phone ran out of memory and couldn't update the game. Now it's available on PC via Google beta Play Games and Steam, so I'm back. I'm in time for their 10th anniversary in-game events, generosity with resources. Bracing for return to stingy when that ends. Made 2 new accounts because forgot old logins. Found old logins and now I've 6 accounts. Good thing I like the game. I do not play every account every day. I play the newest 2 the most.

The Sims
From 2000-2017 the original one was all I played. Have since also played Sims 2, Sims 3 and Sims 4. I love Sims 2 and Sims 3. Really don't care for Sims 4 - it's glitchy/broken and shallow/boring. It did do some neat things like make a search bar for build/buy, it's become very blatantly queer friendly and acknowledges disability and diversity - you can now have trans sims, sims with hearing aids or diabetes monitors and sims with vitiligo. If only it was interesting to actually play. Sims 2 is the best sims game (the most things right/the least things wrong) but Sims 3 suits my gameplay style more. Open world, colour wheel for sims and for build/buy, sims with so much personality. I have recently played saves in the original The Sims, in Sims 2 and in Sims 3. I play Sims 3 the most.

Games I'm looking forward to trying out Life By You, Enzoi and Paralives. Life By You reminds me of Sims 3 the most so I'm expecting to prefer it but we'll see.
