I don't really blame you for finding it annoying when rich people complain about the parts of their jobs they dislike most. But I guess I just kind of see it as a natural human impulse. A short-sighted, self-involved impulse, sure, but if I had their job I might not be any different.

(Anonymous) 2024-05-09 06:47 am (UTC)(link)It's far fewer than most people think. I'm actually shocked at how little money some performers in big movies and popular television shows receive after all their expenses are paid.
And I don't think the grumpy 'Big Star' interviewee is as prevalent as that, either. Most stars are pretty good about doing their rounds. Only the older ones, who understandably get tired quicker than some twenty-five-old or thirty-something, seem to be irritated or openly express how "over it" they are after a while.
And at the end of the day, they are still people who aren't required to act superhumanly pleasant, professional, or "Excited to be here, Katy!" over and over again perfectly. People don't work that way. We all have our limits. That's why there's so much drama in so many workplaces that pay so little.

(Anonymous) 2024-05-09 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)If you're annoyed hearing celebrities complain about promotional shit, I hear that. And I agree to an extent - assuming they signed up for that and knew exactly what they were signing up for. Do your damn job and complain in private to your therapist and all that.
But it has nothing to do with people who have regular jobs. It's not directed at them, and won't have any effect on them or the paychecks they receive.
Should celebs be considerate of folks who don't get paid as handsomely? Well, I guess? It'd be nice. But that isn't the problem here.
