I feel like the Dewey decimal system actually works against me. When I look for sci-fi books at the library, I can be surprised by whatever subgenre I happen to stumble across. Nonfiction categories are so fine-grained that I’m not sure where to start.

My first thought is political history. I really liked The Cartoon History of the Universe. Ecology also seems interesting, but I haven’t read much about it besides what’s in Scientific American. I guess I like interlocked systems of living things.

Oh, and I’m interested in books on how to write books.
