Reality will never win out over fantasy when it comes to peoples fantasy escapism fanishness. Plus there is the whole RPF thing.

I think RPF is much less likely in the nonfiction books I tend to prefer (think Because Internet). And then there are some books where reality is wilder than RPF could ever be. Bad Blood comes to mind.
