Having potential but being average (or bad, depending on who you ask) is the appeal of Hazbin IMO. I stopped caring after a week, but when I watched season one for bile fascination purposes I ended up reading a lot of theories for season two and sketched some redesigns. It's fandombait made by a DeviantART/Tumblr user who was in fandoms growing up.

OP - Fair enough. Seems like it worked in that regard! It still kind of feels to me like it's trying to do a bunch of stuff without really committing to any of it, and the extremely underbaked nature of it doesn't really feel intentional to me? But that's a very subjective opinion and I could well be wrong.

Also, for the record, I do think there's room for properties that are hot messes in the world. I'll take a hot mess that tries to do something cool over more bland, by-the-numbers stuff any day. :)

It's something that would've worked better if it was 20 years older but I appreciate that it tried! I'm still waiting for season two regardless just to see what happens.

Yeah, I'm definitely on-board for S2, in spite of (hell maybe because of) my belief that it's probably only going to get messier. XD
