i'm sorry they disappointed you OP. i will say that it helps me to a) keep talented and/or famous people human and b) avoid disappointment if i think of my reaction to someone's art as mine. they don't own it and aren't actually necessarily involved in my interpretation of it, and therefore it can't be tainted by them. this is hard to do with some art, but i don't think you have to validate creators to validate your feelings, experiences, and the good things art gives you.
