I'll hopefully get my apartment straightened out. It's such a mess. Maybe swing by dad, too.

I'm 100% down to listen to someone complain about how they personally did not like something. Seeing some people go off about how much they, personally, blisteringly hate a show can be funny as hell sometimes.

But I'm so tired of being told that everyone and their mom should not like something that the poster did not like and how it's objectively bad and we all should be angry and ranting about it.

Someone said before on here a while back that fandom has lost the idea of "I" statements and I think that's largely true.

I'm not sure "fakeness" is something I can fault an typical actor or entertainer for, though. Same with Taylor Swift, etc.

Not saying they're good people, but being a brand all the time is the entertainer's job.

Oh, well.

Is this the thing people are bent out of shape about? If it is, then I can handle that much. I thought their first fight was kinda hot. But I love enemies to lovers or enemies just banging it out, so I might be an outlier.

I even feel it's perfectly valid to have stupid, petty dislikes that kinda ruin a show for someone, that's okay! But taking that heat to the people involved is not, but people do, and it's not just kids I see people my own goddamn age doing this as if it's not harassing a very real person because it's all behind a screen. I don't know where people got it into their heads that they can act this way and frankly I wish more creators/actors were allowed to tell these people to fuck off.

Oh gosh, trying to determine anything via cast/crew likes or even posts on social media is ridiculous to me, they're just posting something they worked on or a thing they found funny, it is very rare that you can glean or divine anything from that because these folks aren't allowed to post anything that could be a spoiler yanno?

Often I sincerely wish for the 4th wall back.

The reason nobody expected the previous Papas to die until they did is the vast majority of the band's existence did not kill off the Papas when they were replaced.

1, 2, and 3 were killed off en masse (and I do think the idea that that was clearing house in the wake of the lawsuit has merit), and Nihil was pushing 80 when he died of a heart attack...and he's still around.

I think it's very meticulously thought out with personality traits exaggerated for comedic effect, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's ALL fake.

That said, it got old for me so I'm not a big fan.

Hot yes, but romance?

Oh yeah they all have a polished version of themselves they present to the public, I'm not ignorant of that. But for me his comes off as extra fake if that makes sense? Like I don't buy he's remotely how he acts on camera. To clarify I don't fault him for that or think he's a monster, I just really don't care for him the way a lot of people do because it screams so massively fake to me that's all.

I can fix her. (Or she can make me worse, :P)

It has been really interesting to watch his evolution. I've been a fan of his for years (not to be alll hipster, but before he was mainstream) and he has slowly morphed into this marketable persona. Which tbf it seems to be working so good for him.

I have been sick and suuuuper Depressed, which means I have been shit at planning ahead and too worn out to do anything. I normally go camping, but sadly not this year. Looks like I'll just be lounging around home.

I've always been a messy person, but I broke my ankle early this summer and I've just been laying around and not doing much of anything. So now that I'm out of the cast and on the mend I need to sort it out.

Or my favourite one of late: if you like this piece of media I did not like then you're a Bad Person, and I'll make up lies about how this show is Actually Problematic so it seems that you can't like it at all, because you don't want to be a Bad Person now do you?

As I said: he can make his money from it I don't care, I just don't like watching him on my screen is all.

That's fair, I think I've just hit the point of only being able to see it as all an act.

There's also the problem of people who do make claims like "this show said Nazis were good, actually" and jump through hoops to try and prove that that was what it said, and that's why they hate it and everyone who likes it is a Nazi apologist. And 99.99999% of the time the show will have said nothing about Nazis or anything remotely close, it's just more reaching for a moral reason to dislike something instead of allowing themselves to just not like it.

Yeah, given how big his career and social media personality has gotten, that's understandable.

Heroic sacrifice. Either the hero sacrificing himself for the world or the minor heroes sacrificing themselves so the big hero can save the day. Either way. Especially if the sacrifice isn't death but instead is trauma that needs healing later.

Female action heroes.

Villains who love other villains but who are still both fully evil.

Villains who just straight up enjoy their villainy.

Any time a traditional trope is gender-reversed, I'll probably be interested.

well, plan was art museum tomorrow. But now I've got some sort of bug. Not covid, but I'm thinking flu since I do have temp.

So now plans are sleep. And kitty time. Watching first 3 season 2 Rings of Power episodes. And then either Babylon 5, Supernatural, or White Collar season 1.
