What is everyone doing this (Labor Day) weekend?

I'm not really doing anything but enjoying the break in terrible heat. We are going to be in the 80s! So I'll be able to take some walks. Will also be crocheting and playing video games.

I'll hopefully get my apartment straightened out. It's such a mess. Maybe swing by dad, too.

Oh no! What happened?

I've always been a messy person, but I broke my ankle early this summer and I've just been laying around and not doing much of anything. So now that I'm out of the cast and on the mend I need to sort it out.

I have been sick and suuuuper Depressed, which means I have been shit at planning ahead and too worn out to do anything. I normally go camping, but sadly not this year. Looks like I'll just be lounging around home.

I'm sorry. Hopefully the lounging can at help with the sickness. I know being sick can be really bad for your mood.

It is a mysterious chronic illness so sadly not going to go away. But it will be nice to have the extra day of no work!

well, plan was art museum tomorrow. But now I've got some sort of bug. Not covid, but I'm thinking flu since I do have temp.

So now plans are sleep. And kitty time. Watching first 3 season 2 Rings of Power episodes. And then either Babylon 5, Supernatural, or White Collar season 1.

Oh! I hate being sick on a long weekend. Hope it is just a 24 hour thing.

Thanks. Although I'm glad I have the long weekend to get better given I have no more sick days this year.

Coming home (tomorrow) from my week at the seaside. It's been lovely!
Then i have Sunday off to regroup, do laundry, all that, and then Monday I work a 16 hour shift. Whoo!

Ooof. That 16 hour shift sound brutal. What do you do for a living, if you don't mind me asking.

I'm what's called a Direct Support Professional. I work with individuals with developmental disabilities. They have their own homes (Independent Supported Living), and we staff are there to help them with physical stuff they need help doing (shopping, showering) and more ephemeral stuff, like sleeping all night in their own bed, using proper manners, etc.

I’m assembling a wardrobe and playing with the new food dehydrator. I’m also sketching the plan for Halloween decorations because I always do an OTT setup and then add more the next year. This year I have a lot more to add than usual and the temptation to just start setting all up on September 1st instead of October 1st is strong!

Working at a booth selling pretty carved things (mostly of the shiny pointy type) at my local Renaissance Festival~
