I will never ship Shikamaru/Temari from Naruto because I shipped Shikamaru/Ino from the first time they showed up and it's been decades and Shikamaru/Temari are married in canon and I still don't care, I'm a ShikaIno shipper lmao.

And Temari's cool and all and I like her just fine.

But she's not Ino. That's it, that's the petty reason.

I liked ShikaTema until the whole Naruto fandom started putting down every other female character and saying why Temari was better. Fandom, if you want a girlboss, Tsunade's right there and is also interesting outside of her ability to put a dude in his place, which was about all Temari was good for.

Vash/Knives because so much of the fic has untagged "Vash has a vagina" and degradation. Completely turned me off of the ship.

This intrigues me a bit, since it's an incest ship to begin with which oversteps boundaries for a large amount of people. Idk I find it interesting where people will draw a line, and I don't mean that in a condescending way at all, it's just interesting!

I hate current Stony (as in since the MCU) because almost all that I've seen have made Tony an uwu misunderstood Billionaire. Oh noez, let me cry for the misunderstood BILLIONAIRE.

Goku/Vegeta should be right up my alley. But I genuinely can't ship Vegeta with anyone other than Bulma because I love them so much.

LITERAL SAME. Vegeta is for Bulma ONLY. They literally shaped who I am. Baby's first ship. :')

Goku/Vegeta is actually one of my NOTPs, lol.

I was perfectly chill with Goku/Vegeta, didn't even know it was a ship, until I followed someone for a different fandom, they swerved to DBZ for a bit, was a G/V fan who would spend all their time shitting on Vegeta/Bulma. They could have their preference I didn't care, I was even 'oh that's a different ship, cool' for a short while so I didn't unfollow immediately, but as soon as they started on the 'V/B is bad/abusive bc-' rants I fucking tapped out and block+unfollowed.

The idea of someone trying to 'this is problematic' in DBZ of all things was utterly inane.

Wangxian, I found WWX to be ungodly annoying and I didn't find their relationship compelling at all, it felt quite empty to me as LWJ barely had a personality.

Buddie, the shippers have always been half annoying but they got even worse last season to the point where I now dislike the ship.

I don't even watch the show and can't stand Buddie because the way it inundated my feed when the one guy got into a relationship with someone else.

I look fondly upon Wangxian, but not really into shipping it myself. LWJ doesn't have a very prominent personality, especially not compared to WWX who takes center stage in both the novel and the live action adaptation. LWJ's personality is more... knowledge of what he does and why he does it, along with his background. I wouldn't find his character nearly as compelling without having watched The Untamed, because he never says much. But I can't NOT be touched at the idea of him playing Inquiry for 10+ years, hoping and waiting against hope for someone he loved.

I like Naruto with either Hinata or Sasuke, but never Sakura. She was just never into him like that and I just can’t see it (but somehow I can see it with Sasuke, so IDK).

Peggy Carter/Angie Martinelli solely because of how much the fandom loved Angie and how much they hyped her up, and how aggressively "fine" I found her.

Celebrimbor/Maeglin. I started out just not being interested. But it just shows up everywhere, and I really, really don't get why. So now I hate it.

A character is the fandom's Sub/Bottom Uke, when I don't see him like that. So I feel petty for not liking most M/M ships with him.

Another: I know my ship would never become canon, neither did I want to, but I still annoyed when the more popular ship with one of them did...

If I care about a ship enough to dislike it, it's usually because it's a rival ship for one of my OTPs. Which is a very petty reason, I'm well aware.

The other most common reason for me to dislike a ship is because it's canon's Obligatory Het Ship - i.e. so obvious and basic it hurts and/or full of heteronormative cliches that I personally find obnoxious. IDK if this is a petty reason or not. Probably depends on who you ask.

I thought I'd outgrown my TEH WIMMINZ ARE GETTING IN THE WAY OF TEH SLASH!!1! era, but damn it, half my m/m OTP got a canon het love interest, and even though she's barely on the fandom radar compared to all his other slash ships, I cringe when I see fic for them.

El/Orion from Naomi Novik's Scholomance series. I find Orion a bland himbo (even though the background concept for his character is actually kind of good IMO), and I find El obnoxiously self-righteous and tiresomely over-important within the story, to the extent that it often feels like nobody else really matters or contributes anything of genuinely significant importance. (Orion contributes something of significant importance, but he does it in the most "No thoughts; head empty" way possible, so it feels kind of meaningless insofar as it pertains to his character.)

I'm pretty sure I just dislike how Novik writes ships in general, because I didn't really care for Agnes/Sarken in Uprooted, either. (I also never seem to vibe with the way she writes fanfic ship dynamics.)

Neuvillette/Furina(and/or Focalor)
I personally see them more as vague acquaintances and absolutely don't see any romantic subtext in any of their interactions.
Also I just really hate Furina.

But my main reason to hate the ship is the shippers. Dear Lord they're mostly insufferable assholes.

Mine's... half-petty, and too well-known, and one half of the ship has waaaaaaaay too many fans, so I won't mention it by name.

I refused to ship something in part because a celeb mentioned they shipped it, and that disappointed me a little. I don't bash them because they're entitled to their ships for the reasons they enjoy them. I was disappointed because I felt they genuinely weren't paying attention to the canon ship and didn't give it a chance, so that's the reason they latched on to that other ship. (Again, it's their right to do that, and their right to ship what they want.)

The non half-petty reason is the story was trying to pretend (or at least one of the characters was trying to) that whatever interaction the two had was love-hate, when it was only one character, and it was less love-hate and just flat out hate, and the other one was just tolerating the hate. Mutual hatesex I get.... but this ship just reminded me of bullying, or an abusive relationship, and that's an automatic turn-off for me. (And frankly, there are other ships with better potential, like sexy mind games and folks matching strength-for-strength.)

Ironically, it's partly because of that celeb that I ended up shipping one of those characters in another non-canon ship, where there was much more chemistry than in the ship the celeb preferred. (I'll also add that celeb never got to the point where they could see those interactions play out either, which also disappointed me, so I guess that's also a half-petty reason for what I ship, lol.) In a way, I'm glad because it's become one of my favorite ships, with so much potential (including mutual hatesex to mutual friendship to mutual love). Even if it is a rare pair (and I'm actually sorry everyone else is missing out, lol... yes, I know, one man's trash etc).

I don't like Rogue/Gambit. My OTP is Wolverine/Gambit. This alone is sacrilege in the current X-Men fandom, thanks to '97 going ALL out on the Rogue/Magneto/Gambit drama.

My petty reason is I like slash, and I find the canon relationship boring. Ever since they became OFFICIAL official, you can't have one without the other. It's always Rogue-and-Gambit, never Gambit by himself. I really don't like this trend of Rogue beating Gambit down verbally but it's okay because she loves him shit. It's not cute. It's frustrating.

I'm also tired of writers not knowing what to do with Gambit outside of Rogue. He has SO many layers to him! He's such an interesting character! Give me back fun, flirty, suave Gambit! No more of this bumbling I'm-such-an-idiot-but-did-you-know-that-I-love-my-wife-Rogue-who-is-my-wife caricature. MAKE GAMBIT SEXY AGAIN. :(

Any time canon goes hard on the "these two are the only one possible for each other!!" with an endgame canon ship, the more annoyed with that canon ship I become and the more it becomes my NOTP, especially if I don't like one half of the ship all that much to begin with. It's even more intense if the ship has a lot of pushy entitled fans that get actively angry if anyone ships a competing ship and doesn't also ship their ship.
