It's more important IMO to continually expose the world at large to many forms of art, it's not the Oscars fault many people are not curious enough to find and watch the original film.
Should we stop adapting the Cinderella story because [X version] is the "best" version?
I get the Hollywood system whitewashes a lot of things, but this idea doesn't do shit to bring light to good media outside the Hollywood system, it won't challenge the industry to do better either.
