I think I might be allergic to something in my house? When I get home from work after about 20mins I start to feel nauseous and tired and headachey. It will last until I'm out of the house at work the next day, but it takes a few hours into the work day for me to feel better. Then I am totally fine until I get home again. Idk what is going on.

Please tell me you have a carbon monoxide detector? Those are basically textbook symptoms to look for, especially with how it is only in your house.

Source: Almost died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

If you don't have a carbon monoxide detector get one, this could be life threatening eventually.

That is cause when you get home, all the stress you hold in during the day when you are out is unwinding. This is a normal safe-space response, and the only problem is you are not staying in a destressed space long enough to come out the other side into a relaxed state.

RIP Alice

(Anonymous) 2024-11-25 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Alice Brock, THE Alice of Alice’s Restaurant, passed away on the 21st. She was 83 and by all accounts never stockpiled a half ton of garbage again after Thanksgiving 1965.

Do you have a signature dish you make?

(Anonymous) 2024-11-26 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
Doesn't have to be Michelin Star or complicated. Just the dish you do well.

I make a good thick chocolate chip cookies. I also make some good caramel brownies.

For actual dishes, perlo (chicken bog) is something I'll usually make if I'm making a big meal for everyone.

I make really good deviled eggs. I rarely do it, though, because it's a two day process.

I’ve been told I make good chocolate chip cookies.

I make a mean jambalaya but the only dish anyone has asked for the recipe to is slow-cooker carnitas with fresh pico de gallo. My smoked gouda mac & cheese isn't too shabby either.

Not to sound egotistical but there are a lot I do well. I'm making my whole Thanksgiving dinner this year, turkey, homemade mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing with mushroom, bacon and nuts and scalloped oysters as well as homemade enchiladas and Indian style turkey soup with lentils, tomatoes, spinach and lots of spices with the leftovers. I also make good cake, cookies and other baked desserts.

I make the best ribs everyone I know has ever had.
I am another whose great at chocolate chip cookies (dunno about the others, but I add an extra 1/2 cup flour 50% more chocolate chips, then bake on parchment paper).
I’m also really good at lattes and basically had a mini Starbucks for free set up in my house for years. Some would stop and chat in the morning, others would grab one to go and then stop back to return my cups and have a chat.

I do a great job cooking or baking some other things, but those three are the things that people strongly associate with me.

I make some pretty good cookies, brownies, and of course cakes, but I also make a pretty decent chili! My spaghetti, tacos and fettuccine alfredo aren't half bad, either.

I used to make a decent stir fry. Sadly, I can't eat it anymore so it doesn't get cooked.

Didn't get the fixings this year but the Kung Pao Turkey with Pumpkin Seeds stir-fry is a Thanksgiving favorite among my family. Can't say I originated the recipe though.

I also make a nice chocolate Earl Grey cake.

When was the last time you got sad about finishing something? I'm about to finish a very relaxing game and I know I won't be able to find anything quite as nice again. :(

Bioshock was this for me. Felt depressed because of how good of a game it was after it ended.

I'm this way about my fanfic - I don't want to finish a story because I don't want to say goodbye to that version of my characters that I've created for that specific setting or circumstance, so I dawdle in ending my fics and then I wind up writing sequels to them because I can't let it go. Rinse repeat. It's stupid.

I honestly don't think I've ever felt this way. But I love rewatching/rereading things I love over and over again. So if I want more of that thing, I'll just start back at the beginning.
